You must absolutely take a look at the 'Vieux-Quebec'. The Old-Quebec is very nice and surely one of the most europeean neighbor in North America.
Be sure to visit it by foot to enjoy it even better. A sunny day may helps, but It may get very hot in summer. (30 degrees and very sticky!)
In winter, you must see the 'Carnaval de Quebec', the biggest winter Carnival in the world. During December you may enjoy very beautiful boutiques with Christmas decoration. If it's too cold, get in a restaurant or a coffee and have a hot chocolate.
Walk on the 'Terrasse Dufferin' to have a better look at the 'Chateau Frontenac' and the famous 'Saint-Laurent' river surronding Quebec. If you are rich enough, I'll recommand you a 'caleche' trip. What I miss the most in Quebec is the 'Saint-Laurent' river.

Ride the little funicular up from 'Petit Champlain'-- as well as saving steps you get a nice view of the quarter and the St. Lawrence River. Looking down on 'Petit Champlain' and the river during the funicular ride.

Museums in downtown Quebec are excellent, don't miss them! I personally felt the french colonialism was and is still very strong: take a look at the french consulate and look at the floating proud bleu-blanc-rouge, ko-ko-ree-ko!!!
Packing

Good walking shoes. Sunscreen in summer. Film is a little pricey in tourist areas (shock), but perfectly good quality. It gets very hot in summer and very cold in winter, so pack accordingly. Summer nights can get pretty cool, even if it was sweltering during the day.
Montmorency Falls - Walk The Bridge, Amazing View
by Mikebb
We stopped at the falls for 40 minutes on our way to Ile d'Orleans for dinner. We were on a coach tour and had limited time which caused us to rush the visit and a little bit of panting as there were some steps to climb.
As you walk up the side of the waterfall you appreciate the power and roar of the falls, you can see how over time the flow has carved its way throug the terrain. It is worth continuing to the top of the falls and walking the suspension bridge, the thrill is magnificent.
If you have a vehicle I would recommend you bring some lunch with you and make this your lunch stop to enjoy the magnificient view. There is a parking area near the top of the falls.
