Freeezing Winters!
by Sachiko353
My favorite thing about Quebec are the awesome sales that emerge during the winter that seem to last the entire season. The prices are absolutely ridiculously low and the merchandise superb. The memory in Quebec I love the most are the people that I met there. Since I was staying for an entire winter session and was not use to the freezing cold (I'm from California), I was told not to judge the city by its winters. A few natives told me to come back during the spring and see how beautiful their city can be.
Quebec Tip

St Lawrence Seaway...Ille de Orleans(distance). I had a camper van in the old days and we used to drive thru Quebec City and stay on Ille de Orleans, a huge island adjoining the city. The island is very rural and has a provincial campground that overlooks the St Lawrence Seaway. At night you could see the ships from all over the world heading toward the Great Lakes.
City of Lights!
by jamiesno
Quebec has many many faces depending on the view you get of the city. It's fair to say at night the city has an entirely different character and I can only attest to the amount of lights around during the Carnaval season.
All the streats are very well light, its a festive atmosphere and it certainly makes walking the city much more enjoyable.
There is always something to look at and admire it seems whether it be the amazing lights, historic buildings or the ice sculptures.
Your night walk through Quebec promises to be a treat! I feel like a salesman, LOL But it really is beautiful I have to say it right :-)
French Food and Drink # 7 - Main Course Crepes!
by jamiesno
Crepes you are starting to see are very popular. Here is a crab and shrimp crepe from Au Petit Coin Breton with cheese melted over it and cooked in a cream souce.
This too was very very tasty.
You must be starting to get a feel for local french cousine now, I am giving you lots of ideas :-)
Packing List

Keep it light, you'll have to carry it. There is no car or motor home on the camping ground. hat, mittens and warm blanket for the night. Bathing suit, shorts, t-shirt for the day. And anything in between... It can gets from 85 on the beach during the day to 50 at night in your tent (this is in July!) Bug spray Waterproof camera is fun to take along on the canoe-kayak-rabaska rides Something easy to raise in trees (to keep your food). A big glacier full of beers may be fun, but not to easy to balance on a branch... We used nylon bag (usually it holds a sleeping bag) and ropes. Keep your beers in the river.
