Travel Tips for Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts
Main tourist attractions

A boat ride on the "Allouette" will give you a very pleasant trip around the Lake while also providing some historic content of the city, its inhabitants etc. Having all my furniture stolen and knowing who took it, where it could be found and being told by the Police and the Prosecutors Office that they will not do a damn thing about it.
Lake in Sainte Lucie

20 kilometers from Sainte-Agathe-des -Monts is a small village of Sainte-Lucie. Our dear friend Claire lives here. There is a public beach here, no entry fee. Nice place to swim, go boating or just hiking in the area.

"A week-end here June 9, 10, 11th 2006"
It rained all week-end but we still had fun inside the Auberge La Caleche as they have many inside amusements such as pool, shuffle board, cards, dancing etc. Outside there is mini golf courses(2) and a swimming pool also shuffle board.

In the heart of Ste. Agathe is this beautiful Lake.
Cozy little town, mismanaged , unsupportive Police

"The Scenery"
View of " Lake of many Sands" or Lac des Sable in local French also the now defunct ski-hill. The town fathers in their wisdom decided to close this ski-hill down and since then the town has suffered economically: tourists have stopped coming, restaurants and businesses went broke etc. All my furniture was stolen and I knew who took it and where it was but neither the Police nor the Prosecutors office took any action. Would you want to live in a town like that?

A very sweet little Laurentian town

Saint-Agathe-des-Monts sits on the banks of the beautiful Lac des Sables, the only beach in the area with clean, sandy beaches. Not that the other hundreds of lakes aren't spotlessly clean, they just don't have sandy beaches, more like little strips of rocks. The village is a great place to spend the day strolling, having a coffee and just relaxing. Once again, the Linear Park (Le Petit Train du Nord) passes through this village so you can hike/bike/ski/snowmobile to this village from many other different locales. This photo was taken as we left for our 50 minute cruise on the lake.
