healing miracle in trois rivieres

i am 60 years of age, married and for the last 4 mo. living in trois rivieres. as many older generation i have some health problems, arthritis, unable to close my hands, unable to turn my neck very far, pain in my nees and many other joints. urination problems, and other just getting old problems. my wife is a nurse and university professor and skeptical of everything. in late june, 07, my wife and i visited the old church at the basillica. many times before we visited the new church but this time the old church was the destination. as we entered the old church i felt a presence around me and a strange sensation. we were in the church about 20 minutes saying a prayer for our family and lighting a candle. when we came out of the church i told my wife i feel releived. much to my surprise my arthritis was completely gone and 3 mo later still no signs. i knew immediately there was changes in my body but did not realise the scope of the changes. my e mail is garyhunt2002@yahoo.ca if you would like other info on this miracle. i am not catholic but thanks be to god for the cure and other powers he has since given me.

À l’origine, le site de Trois-Rivières est fréquenté par des autochtones de la grande famille algonquine. En 1535, l’explorateur Jacques Cartier va décrire le site; en 1599, le capitaine Dupont-Gravé va le nommer : «Trois-Rivières». Enfin, en 1603, le géographe Samuel de Champlain va noter qu’il serait avantageux d’y établir une habitation permanente, qui sera finalement érigée par un dénommé Laviolette, le 4 juillet 1634. D’abord comptoir de commerce, Trois-Rivières va ensuite développer cette triple vocation qu’elle va conserver au fil des siècles : (1) siège de gouvernement, (2) ville d’éducation et (3) cité industrielle.

Trois-Rivières is the centre and capital of the Mauricie region of Quebec. It lies at the halfway point between Montreal and Quebec City, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. It was founded in 1634 By Laviolette, the second permanent settlement in New France. Its location at the three-pronged mouth of the Saint-Maurice River is the source of its name, which is French for three rivers. Historically, Trois-Rivières was sometimes referred to in English as Three Rivers, although in modern times it is always referred to as Trois-Rivières in both English and French. The city's inhabitants are known as "Trifluviens" (Trifluvians).

"Attractions"

Trois-Rivières has an internationally known racetrack named Circuit Trois-Rivières. The track hosts American Le Mans series, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, and the Formula Atlantic events [1].

Notable landmarks include the Forges du Saint-Maurice, a foundry dating back to the 1730s, the Ursulines Monastery, and Notre-Dame-du-Cap Basilica.

The old part of the city composed of century-old buildings housing a great variety of cafés, restaurants, clubs, bars, and shops. In winter time, the area is regularly closed to vehicular traffic to accommodate various festivals and events, turning the downtown core into a pedestrian mall. Trois-Rivières is officially the "National Poetry Capital of Quebec". Numerous plaques displaying poetic verses are installed across the centre of the city, and its International Festival of Poetry (held each year in the first week of October) honours this title.

This shows the childhood of Father Frederick.
He was born at Ghyvelde, France on Nov. 19,1838. He became a priest with The Franciscans the 17th of Aug.1870.
He was sent to the "HOLY LAND" and was a missionary there for 12 years.
In 1888 he established " The Commission of the HOLY LAND in Trois- Rivieres .
He then became director of Pilgrimages at Notre-Dame- Du- Cap.
He earned a reputation of a Saint and died on Aug. 4th 1916
His body is entombed in this museum.890, Rue St-Maurice, Trois-Rivieres.
He was Be Beatified by Pope Jean-Paul II 25 Sept. 1988..
