Lac La Ronge Lodge and Pickerel Bay Cabins: Pickerel Bay Cabins on Lac La Ronge
We traveled 40 miles from the town of La Ronge to Pickerel Bay Cabins.
Our cabin was native spruce log with electricity and full kitchen.
Fresh water was centralley located with washrooms and biffies throughout the camp.
You're deep within the Boreal forest.
We were issued a 16 foot deep v boat with a 25 horse yammy motor.
We were ready to explore the lake!
The main lodge dining was excellent, food was galore and always available.
Full fillet processing, and good equipment.
The fishing is world class for walleye (canadians call walleyes pickerel hence the name pickerel bay) this is where they spawn. Lake Trout are in the 35lbs average range with our biggest under 50lbs. Jackfish were everywhere. Lac La Ronge is a pristene lake, we were exploring in Hunters Bay.
