I'm not used to being treated like Royalty!

In the course of seeking a new job, an engineering company in Regina was interested in interviewing me face-to-face, so they flew me out from New Brunswick for a three-day session. I was very surprised to find myself booked into the 'Delta Suite' on the top (25th) floor of the elegant Delta Regina Hotel, at their expense! This is the tallest building in Regina (2nd photo) and it provided a great viewing platform to look out onto the Prairies as they went to the horizon. I didn't really spend a lot of time in the room, other than sleeping, because I was being toured around during the day and even had evening meals out with the guys on two of the three nights I was there.

Unique Quality: The suite was far more spacious than anything I needed, with a huge living/TV room with couches and chairs (as well as a computer table) greeting me as I entered (3rd photo). As always on the few occassion I have stayed in Delta hotels, the bed seemed to be extra comfortable (4th photo). It had way too many pillows fluffed up on top of each other as well as an evening gown and individually wrapped chocolates waiting for me each night. The bathroom was so big I could only fit half of it into the 5th photo! In addition to the spacious marble sink was a large bathtub/jacuzzi, a separate shower stall, a bidet and a toilet!

Down in the lobby was a small restaurant that was open in the mornings for either a breakfast buffet or individual orders. I had some ham and eggs one morning but the next two I switched to another smaller snack stand next to it, having a fruit bowl with yoghurt each time. In another part of the lobby was a nice sports bar where I relaxed over a glass of wine in the evenings before retiring to my room. The price with taxes was C$165 per night (about the same in US$).
