Hello there
As you say that you come in Saskatoon very often, I hope it's not too late to answer. I am a coffee lover and I go oftent to the Fine Art coffee shop. I think that if you contact them, they might answer your questions. Here is their website: http://www.pacificgallery.ca/fine_art_cafe.htm

Travel Tips for Saskatoon

Beat of the distant drums..

One of the sites that is worth a visit is Wanuskewin Heritage Park. Be sure to plan for a few hours and go when the weather is nice enough for walk outside. Best memories are of the winter months. When it is cold enough for horror frost to accumulate on the trees and the bridges with all the lights sparkling on everything. It is a beautiful site that I have never seen duplicated in all the places I have lived in since.

Visit the University of Saskatchewan, one of the most historic and beautiful campuses in North America. Also visit the Delta Bessborough, situated along the beautiful South Saskatchewan River (perhaps the most senic river valley in Canada). Saskatoon is a very unique city, unlike any other in Western Canada. The cultural scene is vibrant, and their are few cities of similar size that have as many annual festivals and celebrations. It is Saskatchewan's preffered concert destination, and has a night scene better than cities four times the size.

Visit the beautiful University of Saskatchewan. The Greystone buildings in the fall are absolutely gorgeous. This is definitely one of the most beautiful campuses in Canada. There are also several places to visit on campus including, the Diefenbaker Centre (former Prime Minister of Canada hailing from Saskatchewan), the Geology (Museum of Natural Science)museum, and the Biology museum. You can also catch movies at Place Riel theatre in the Arts building - they often play foreign films or off-the-wall fare. The picture I have selected is of the U of S Memorial Gates (built in 1927)that commemorate the 67 students and faculty members who perished serving the First World War. All of my friends and family who made growing up there such a special experience.

Sidewalk Artwork

by penumbra

There is quite a bit of art along the sidewalks and street corners of downtown Saskatoon. Often it is unrecognizable chunks of rock stacked one upon another. But at least in one case, I recognized the subject when I saw the statue. I still had to read the inscription, however, because I couldn’t guess what Mahatma Gandhi was doing in Saskatoon.

One of the things that is often missed is visiting the University of Saskatchewan Campus. This campus is one of the most beautiful during the summer. As well, there are two interesting museums on campus: The Deifenbaker Museum, and the dinosaur/biological museum (in the Geology/Biology building).
