As a budget traveller, all you need is a clean, quiet place to sleep, take a shower, & safely lock up your things. This is it. Most restaurants, pubs, shops, etc are in walking distance.
Unique Quality: In another part of the building is a pub, where the college crowd party hard every Friday & Saturday night.
Directions: downtown
I stayed there two nights and they were the worst nights of my entire life.
The hotel offers hostel rooms and hotel rooms. My friend and I were on a budget so we picked the hostel room as we were told the only difference was the hostel rooms had no TV.
The room probably was clean, but it was so crappy you barely noticed. The door to the bathroom had no door knob. There were bunk beds in the room and the top bed was very high, very tight and without any security sort of barrier that would prevent you from falling. There wasn't even a ladder to get to it. We chose to put the mattress on the floor rather than sleeping in that bed.
We froze the entire time (we were at the beginning of May) because they had emptied the boilers already and the temperature was lousy so they had no way of heating the place, we were told at reception by a lady who didn't really care about our complaints. Of course it was significantly warmer in the lobby than in our room.
Plus, there is a club on the floor below the hotel, so say goodbye to calm.
Not worth it. Don't go there.
