While I haven't actually stayed here myself, I worked here one summer (I needed to make extra money to go to Europe) as a chambermaid. I can say firsthand that while this hotel seems nice enough, basic sanitary cleaning practices are NOT always followed. While I was working there, my supervisor gave me instructions to not change the sheets after a guest had left, but just make the beds look nice ("so that nobody could tell the difference") whenever we were in a rush. This hotel was so understaffed that often, we did not have enough time to vaccuum rooms, even if they had previously had pets staying in them. The general theme seemed to be "don't waste time, nobody can tell the difference", because we were on more than one occasion required to work overtime and then not paid for it. Also, here is forewarning... staff are not allowed to keep the tips you give them, and the money is required be given to the head of the area in which they work (housekeeping, bar, etc.) The owner himself seems to be blissfully unaware of all this.
Good: Has laundry facilities, restaurant and a hair salon inside the hotel itself. The restaurant/bar's not bed either. Bad: SANITATION, staff members lacking in basic courtesy, extremely understaffed Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averagePhone: 1-867-668-4500Directions: Main Street, located in downtown coreWebsite: www.goldrushinn.com Other Contact: fax: 1-867-668-7432
