Charlotte, North Carolina: My former hometown
  • Tip Rating:
  • If you travel to the southeastern part of the United States and you decide to stop in Charlotte, I'd be happy to offer you whatever advice I can. I moved up to Philadelphia in the summer of 2004, but I still have a lot of friends down there and plan to visit often.

    Marina del Rey Beach Club...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Marina del Rey Beach Club (Mazatlan, Mexico).

Although mostly a timeshare (buy a room for a unspecified week or two each year), this beachfront complex on the Pacific coast does rent out vacant lovely units with kitchens. All guests, furthermore, whether owners or one-time renters receive the same tender loving service.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Well, I usually crash on a friends floor! But is you can't do that, there are sooooo many hotels to choose from. As cheap as Hostels and as expensive as the Royal York, there are tons in between. I'm sure a guide book or web site of Toronto can help you out better than I

  • Tip Rating:
  • I recommend the Marriot Market Center if you can afford to spend over $200 a night.
Another good choice and there are many is the Emily Morgan located across the street from the Riverwalk and next to the Alamo. Ask for the Ghost Hunter's rate of $85 then meet the ghost tour group at dusk at the monument to the defenders of the Alamo. It's a fun evening of storytelling and history.
Any hotel on the Riverwalk is going to be nice, but there are more moderately priced hotels just a short walk away. There's even a Motel 6 within walking distance. I suggest you do a hotel search on the internet and do some comparison pricing.
