Hotel de Cortes
This hotel occupies a building constructed in 1780 by the Barefoot Augustine monks and was originally known as Augustine Home and Shelter. In the 18th century it changed its name to Santo Tomas de Villanueva Hostel and is considered the oldest one of the city. The building has a two-level facade of chiluca stone and its baroque doorway is outstanding; in its niche one can read the date of its construction. In the interior there is a patio with a central fountain, which serves as the hotel’s restaurant.
