GREAT price comfy hotel, Mexico City
This hotel has become very popular with Expats living in Mexico. The prices are amazing, accomdations are basic but very comfortable. And the service is excellent.
This is definitely a hotel to make reservations prior to arrival in DF. Located in Colonia Roma, very safe and comfortable hotel close to high end restaurants and easy access to Centro and historic districts via bus, taxi or metro trains.
The food is good (not great), but the restaurant is in the bottom floor. This is an easy and comfortable hotel. I stay here when I am flying out of Mexico City (DF) international airport.
The service and attitude of the staff is beyond expectations (not always the case in DF).
Unique Quality: Very clean, basic and comfortable.
Dont forget to ask for the wifi code to access from your room.
Single rooms actually start in the mid $30's USD.

Colonia Roma
Unique Quality: Located on Avenida Alvaro Obregón - a wide tree-lined parkway with monuments. Within steps of the city's new cultural corridor of galleries, theaters, small museums, cafe's, restaurants, etc. The hotel has spacious and comfortable rooms, all tastefully decorated. They have a TV, telephone, private bathroom, and those looking onto the street have a small balcony. It also provides its guests with a restaurant-bar, which is open 24h daily.

Just a Place to Lay My Head
Pedroebc and I walked around the area of Colonia Roma comparing rates and rooms. This section of town does not see a lot of tourist traffic and rooms were easy to come by.
My room was on the fifth floor facing the street. It wasn't the most peaceful rest I've had while on the road but for the money I was satisfied. I was just happy to have water pressure and plenty of hot water for my shower since it seems that whereever I travel to a hot shower is a luxury.
Unique Quality: Internet access in the lobby and a small cafe.
Luggage storage was also available.
