Great location

If you're looking for a quiet, clean and comfortable hotel at a reasonable price and in a great location in Mexico City, the New York is hard to beat. The rooms might be a bit on the small side but they are air-conditioned, they all have television, telephones and a safe for your valuables (most important!). Security is good around the clock. The hotel breakfast is pretty ordinary but there are plenty of nice little local restaurants where you can get a good breakfast at a very reasonable rate. I'd certainly stay here again.

Unique Quality: Where the New York really earns its stars is in its location. It's very, very central - just a few minutes from the Plaza de la Republica, an easy walk to the Alameda and historic centre of the city and no more than a pleasant evening stroll to the Zona Rosa if you're looking for somewhere elegant for dinner. And don't forget to sample a crab or seafood cocktail from the seafood street stand just around the corner on Emparan - they serve hundreds of these every day to people who come from all over the city and they are excellent!
