hotel to stay at in Aguascalientes

by rivalta

Has anyone stayed in Aguascalientes? I am looking for a hotel with a colonial feel to it (possibly an old palace), moderately priced, but comfortable?

My girlfriend and her son live in Aguascalientes so I've never had to stay at a hotel there. But I have seen several "colonial" style hotels. Don't remember any names, sorry.

But perhaps if you use Google you can locate some phone numbers and find out prices.

Suerte (Good luck),

Travel Tips for Aguascalientes

An old, old city

by rmdw

This photo, taken in 2003 shows how incredibly old Aguascalientes is.

Here's a brief history of the city's origins: "The Villa de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de las Aguas Calientes was founded on October 22, 1575 mainly to protect and shelter the travelers who were heading to Mexico from Zacatecas. Today this tradition of hospitality continues with modern facilities in communications, hotels and restaurants." If you'd like more details then click here.

"Nightlife (*Antros y Barras)"

There are many clubs and bars to head out to at night. Most don't start getting LIVE until 11 or midnight. There is something for everyone here so it doesn't matter what you are into. There are country clubs, pop clubs, hip hops clubs, "Latin" clubs such as cumbia, salsa, etc. and all types. The bars are great but MERENDEROS are most fun. Of course the best time to be in Aguas is in April for the fair. You will never run out of things to do!!! It's a real PARTY life. If you' like more info, contact me! Have a blast!
