Travel Tips for Ensenada

I WOULD FIRST START A CRUISE...

by MELENDEZ

I WOULD FIRST START A CRUISE DOWN COSTERO BOULEVARD. SIGHT SEEING EVERY HOTEL AND PARTY LIFESTYLE. THEN I WOULD GO HORSEBACK RIDING DOWN THE BEACH. AFTER I WOULD GET SOMETHING TO EAT AT ANY CORNER STAND THAT SELLS FRESH SEAFOOD, ESPECIALLY 'CEVICHE' TOSTADAS. WHAT I MISS MOST OF ENSENADA IS THE HOSPITALITY. PEOPLE THERE ARE SO MUCH FUN. THEY MAKE IT FUN. IT'S A GOOD GETAWAY FROM ALL THE STRESS AND EVERYDAY ROUTINE. THE NIGHT LIFE IS AWESOME IF YOU LIKE TO PARTY. THE FOOD IS REALLY GOOD (FISH TACOS).

DRIVE CAREFULLY INTO TOWN

by lmkluque

Coming off the toll road there is first a sharp right turn, just beyond the turn there are ferocious steel speed bumps. When you see this building you'll know you've arrived.

Ensenada is a fishing town and there is an open air fish market. If you arrive early enough, you can buy the fish as they are unloaded off the boats. Now, that's fresh! The prices are modest too.

THE FURTHER SOUTH THE FEWER TOURISTS

by lmkluque

This view from the cliffs at La Bufadora, looking south, shows that there are more little towns further down, to be explored. Who knows what wonders can be found in the little villages beyond, especially on the west side of Baja California Norte?

Svetobeznik's new Ensenada Page

by Svetobeznik

Nice city at 100km South (60 miles) from Tijuana. Lots of good hotels and restaurants. Great fish market and shopping in general. If you like to try Pacific Lobsters you might also consider a stop in Puerto Nuevo at the Lobster Village (between Rosarito and Ensenada).
View of the coast from "El Mirador".

cheap beer and food. Good for a day or two...

by freemrkt

Try to bypass Tijuana, and continue south a few hours to this city. Its good for a night or two, but you'll tire quickly of this 3rd-world country, and yearn to get back to civilization. The poverty can be depressing, especially on the drive here. But once you get here, the folks are friendly enough, and the beer and food is good and cheap.
The night life is fairly good---some bars to go to, some friendly women to meet.
