Entering Ensenada

A frequent and fond memory of Ensenada is sitting by the pool at Las Rosas, over looking the Pacific Ocean, drinking Margaritas having interesting conversation with friends and watching the sunset.
The pool at Las Rosas has a 'disappearing' rim. If you look closely at the picture you can just see where the pool ends and the Ocean begins. (The pool is on either side of this walk way.)
When I first came to La Bufadora there was nothing out here except dirt and on the other side of the road, a little restaurant that served the best, lobster I've ever eaten. Since then, everytime I bring someone here I can see the massive changes to the area. Soon it will be much like Puerto Nuevo, crowded with people hawking their wares, stalls full of merchandise and a few tourists, like me at La Bufadora Observation Structure
I've had the pleasure of twice visiting Ensenada and spending time with some of its poorest children. I have never seen a more naturally beautiful setting, and I seldom have the opportunity to meet friendlier people. There are certainly parts of Ensenada that are overly touristed, but if you can get away from the resorts and see some of the actual city you should begin to fall in love with it. The drive down from the border alone is worth the trip, and weather-wise the area has a perfect climate.
I was in Ensenada in June of 1997, to take a look at some friend's time-share real estate project. They planned to develop these units with the Hussong brothers, so we got to stayed in the rental units for free.
Also got to watch the 1st Annual Ensenada-Corona American Indy Car Series (AIS) Baja 100 Keven Cogan Challenge. Yep, that really is the whole title.
