campo quatro casas.: surfer hostel

by cachaseiro

this hostel is located just off a town called colonet.
it's on a quiet beach and a place where surfers hang out and the owner is a laid back friendly hippie guy.
the hostel just had new bathrooms and kitchen made when i was there and things were quite good in my opinion.
personally i prefer to stay in a town and not on an empty beach, but if you wanna live hostel life on a baja beach then this is certainly a good place to do it.

right on the beach with a great seaview.

Motel Sahara: Just a motel. Just what I wanted.

by Fewf

We found this place after bouncing around Ensenada for a bit. Very nice owner; I don't think he gets any help at the place. Even does all the room cleaning himself. Doesn't speak English, so brush up on your Spanish. $30 got us a room for two nights.

hotel la mision: great hotel in La Fonda

by modsquads

this place is small and very homey. each room is spacious, with a large balcony facing the beach, and a FIREPLACE!! (the liquor store downstairs sells wood) but the best part was the restaurant...indoor/outdoor seating, fantastic guac and all around great food, not to mention breakfast. we ended up staying another night because it was so great!

great view, right on beach, and the fireplace!!!

hostal sauzal.: best hostel in baja.

by cachaseiro

in el sauzal, just before ensenada there is a very nice little hostel run by a mexican woman who lived some years in the states where she worked as a nanny.
she has now build her own little hostel in el sauzal and the place is a real treat.
el sauzal has no sights in itself, but the hostel is a fantastic place to hang out for a few days if you are heading further down in mexico.
the owner is a goldmine of information and a very freindly person.

Rosarito Beach Hotel and Resort: Rosarito's best resort

by galvez

An excellent hotel to escape the busy southern California lifestyle. Located right on the beach, this hotel will satisy the honeymooners, the families, the busy business man, the spring breakers-- everybody!

Three restaurants, two pools, many activities to keep adults and kids entertained, steps from the beach, safe environment, in the heart of Rosarito, next to all the big clubs and bars.

one of the pools

by kathycollins

there are 3 main pool (and several little ones) at the resort. One is the already mentioned "quiet" pool, one is the activity pool - activites from water polo and volleyball, to water aerobics are held here, and music is featured all day. This is the most active of the pool areas. The third pool I found to be a great place to swim - a bit more active than the quiet zone, but not as boisterous as the activity pool...this one was just right for us!

the Cactus Gardens at Presidente Intercontinental

by kathycollins

As a gardener, I always check out the area gardens where I visit. The Cacti Mundi Botantic Garden is very nearby - an easy walk from the hotel...but the hotel ground itself is beautifully landscaped and very enjoyable. I loved walking through the cactus beds at this hotel!

the Estuary

by kathycollins

The "quiet"zone at the estuary was scenic and lovely, and provided an ideal place to rest and relax.

beachside restaurant

by kathycollins

this open-air restaurant had the best grilled mahi-mahi on the luncheon menu!

Presidente Intercontental

by kathycollins

This is a 5 star all-inclusive resort in the Intercontinental chain. Among the great things here is the food - there are some very good restaurants here. And although I've heard others complain of watered-down drinks, we found that if you asked, the bartenders would make drinks to your taste! The pools are wonderful, and I especially liked the "quiet" area by the estuary - both very scenic and great for those who want to read a book or nap undisturbed!
