Super luxurious!
Friends were staying at the Cabo Del Sol resort. It was quite luxurious, and just beautiful. I was at a villa there for a wedding. The picture is a view from the back of the villa. The first body of water is the pool, and then there is a golf course, then the Sea of Cortez. It was very insulated from the 'real' Cabo. Very few locals here, only tourists. Not a big deal. I went into town which is very touristy. The catered food was EXCELLENT at the Cabo Del Sol.
Unique Quality: It felt like I was in paradise.

Helpfulness
We were fortunate to have FREE...
We were fortunate to have FREE lodging at a wonderful house (villa) outside of Cabo on the 17th hole of the Cabo del Sol golf course. However there are many hotels to choose from and if you want to rent a villa go on line to cabovillarentals@aol.com

There are many golf courses in Cabo, I counted at least eight. The Cabo del Sol golf course was right by the house we stayed in. The green fees for 18 holes is $250 - now you gotta like golf a lot at those prices.
The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus. It is a beautiful course, you play right next to the Sea of Corez.
Play Golf

Cabo San Lucas has rapidly become the golf capital of Mexico. With six championship courses (there are more in the planning stage) all within easy driving distance of each other, the area offers some of the most beautiful golf courses in the world. Come enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Baja and try each course while you are here. All have ocean views and three of the courses, Cabo del Sol, Cabo Real and El Dorado, boast spectacular ocean side holes that rival any in the world for their beauty and challenging nature. The Raven at Cabo San Lucas looks out over Land's End and Cabo's beautiful bay.
Great Golf vistas abound!

"Amazing Golf"
Cabo has great views and none better than from their on-water golf courses. The two we played were amazing! We played Cabo Real, and Cabo del Sol; Ocean Course. Each equally beautiful and challenging; but unique in their own ways.
"Cabo Real"
A great golf course. The staff is happy to welcome you. Lots of distracting vistas and too many challenging golf shots await you. Great landscaping and tee boxes. The course winds out to the water and back from it. Once you hit the water and start turning back, the best of the holes are behind you, but what a trip up to that point.
"Cabo Del Sol - Ocean Course"
The best course you can play there. From the staff to the range, to the last green; Cabo Del Sol is worth every penny. We had the unfortuante timing to show up when the course was being airated; but we still were blow away by almost every hole. Wait until you get to the 17th hole. Wow! The 6th and 7th are amazing views, but photos can't do the 17th justice! A must play when you are there. Have lunch there before or after your round and sit on the terrace to get what is probably the best view of all. 5 Stars all the way!

Cabo in June? Skimboarding? Hotel?
by Dnsmashing
I'm just starting to begin planning a family trip with my sister, her family, my family and my parents. There could be up to 12 of us travelling together. We're considering the end of May or the end of June. I've heard that June is the beginning of Hurricane Season. I'm interested in finding out how warm/humid the weather is in June and if we should be concerned about travelling at that time.
We have a diverse group and all want something different from the trip. The typical things like snorkeling, swimming, sightseeing, but in addition, my son skimboards and he's heard great things about skimboarding in Cabo. Can anyone tell me which beaches are best for that and if they are also swimmable?
Also, if anyone has recommendations for a hotel that is fairly affordable, all inclusive and preferably near all the action, I'd love to hear about it!
Thanks so much!!!!!

As a local Cabo-American dont come in May-June weather is so bad. I cant even tell you how hot it is. If you want a swimmable beach make sure the hotel has them because only about 30% do. The water can be very ruff and rocky at some places but those beachs most the time are the nicest with the best views.

Cabo Del Sol Shariton- Best family hotel, with the whole golf nice big sandy beachs, tennis and everything you would want.

Thanks pennydog0570!!! I really appreciate the input! Have you heard anything about RIU Palace? It's on Medano Beach and I've heard that beach is swimmable. Is the heat a dry heat in May/June, or is it really humid too?
This is such a huge help! It's so hard to really know what a resort is like unless you've been there

Stayed at RIU Palace last November. Nice place with lots of activities, good food, drinks, etc. Going back in January.
Q:Is Anyone Flying a Private Plane into BAJA SUR in June? "(THIS IS AN ALERT)
there are a number of small private airports in the area, but due to the G20 Meeting, the authorities are..."
A: "I will crank up my Cessna 310 and just fly underneath the radar to the beach at Barriles ::)"
