    Cabo Villas Not so Bad

    by

We were at this resort for one week. Was very nice, not a first class hotel by any means, but clean, very close to all the fun things to do. The beach is so close, the marina is just a short walk away. All the great tourist spots are just a short walk away. Really nice.
If you forget something in your room, it is just a quick walk to get it, not like the other mega hotels that take an hour to get to and from the beach.
Construction ongoing all the time except Sunday.

Unique Quality: It is a fairly new place, but I really thought it was an old hotel that they were trying to repair.
    Could use some updating.

Directions: First hotel on Medano Beach

Just got back from two weeks in Cabo and enjoyed Cabo Villas. The resort does have some construction happening but it was not intrusive and when finished the resort will be even better. For the most part, staff was excellent but some things were done in a mexican minute. There is alot of presentations happening but let them know right away you are not interested and you will be left alone. Location can't be beat. Both town and the beach are just minutes away. Will stay with Cabo Villas on our next trip to Cabo

Cabo Villas Resort is muy bueno!

by TripAdvisor Member MarinMom

This was our first trip to Cabo San Lucas, after years of traveling to Hawaii. What fools we have been to blow the time and money in Hawaii.

I went to Cabo with my 17 year old daughter, and I must say that the hotel, the location and the wonderful marina nearby made this the perfect vacation with a teenager.

Cabo Villas Resort is just terrific. Although our check-in time was delayed about 1.5 hours, it truly made no difference, as they gave us free drinks and we soaked up the sun.

We stayed in the new section of the resort, and the rooms are even better than pictured. Limestone floors, gorgeous, huge bathroom, flat screen tv in front of a wonderful king size bed (bring soft pillows), spacious living room with a huge television, kitchenette with granite counter, cooktop, microwave and fridge, and a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and ocean.

The windows in the new units are so incredible. The music can be blaring at the pool, but you close that sliding door and hear nothing. The A/C is quiet and perfectly balanced.

We loved the staff at the hotel, and they really keep an eye on who comes into the compound from the street and the beach. I felt very very safe with my daughter, and the resort is the very first structure on El Medano beach, so everyone coming to the beach could be strolling through there, but it just doesn't happen.

The beach club, Baja Cantina, is wonderful as well, and I highly recommend the chips, guacamole and salsa with a cold Corona!

Nearby is The Office and The Mango Deck. Both great eating places for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But don't overlook the upstairs restaurant at the hotel. Super view, and we had the best breakfast of our stay there. Plus, not crowded at all.

The Marina restaurants are pricey, but worth sitting out on the patio for dinner at least one night. It is almost surreally beautiful.

The nearby GIANT mall is handy, but if you don't need to shop, don't bother.

Be sure to walk past the Marina to Squid Roe and beyond. Via Hidalgo has darling restaurants that are much more local - some pricey and some really reasonable. There are lots of wonderful silver and pottery shops over there as well.

So! If you are looking for a laid back holiday and want to have a beer or pina colada in your hand by 11 am every day, this is your place.

The people of Cabo San Lucas are very happy, and now we know why. Nirvana does exist.

Private Cabo Villas

by catcherintherye51 about Villa Costa Brava

We had an amazing stay at Villa Costa Brava last summer. We booked it through CaboVillas.com, and they were very helpful and knowledgeable in helping us pick out the best property for our group (mostly family). The villa is in the Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, but driving to either was quick and easy.

The villa itself is 3BR/3BA, and about 3,000 sq. feet. It had internet access and a Vonage telephone line, which was really convenient. It was furnished very nicely, and had daily maid service. We also had a private chef come one of the nights to cook dinner - it was fantastic!

I would highly recommend this villa, or others through this company. Private beach access, private pool, small kid's pool, internet and Vonage, excellent location, very private.

Our family has been traveling to Cabo for over 5 years. We stayed at the Westin our first 3 year,a beutiful resort, and the rooms were very comfortable, but to far from downtown Cabo.We allmost bought a time share last year, thank god we didn't.Last year we stayed at Playa Grande, not bad just can't swim in the ocean. We ended up going on a tour at Cabo Villas, and fell in love with the ocean front executive. It was much nicer than the rooms we stayed in before. Our salesman Mike was very nice, and with very low preasure. We ended up buying from him,and we were happy we did.We ended up going to Baja Catina that night, this place is located on the marina, and offers great food, thats not going to rob your wallet. We had a wunderfull time.Cabo Villas location, and great veiws,it's hard to beat. Thanks Mike & Angela! Can't wait till next year.

Don't use your credit cards at the Cabo Villa

by A TripAdvisor Member

This is my 2nd time writing about the Cabo Villas. The first year, was terrible there.. The 2nd year we stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Rose... now THERE'S a resort.. The couple we were with wanted to have dinner at the top of the Cabo Villas because of the view. We were the only customers at the roof top restaurant, when it came time to pay the bill, they were gone with both of our credit cards/debit cards for a long time.. We realized this, but didn't think too much about it... We'll, I'll tell you, 1 mo later, we both had large purchases in San Diego on or cards.. we live in SEATTLE... That was the only place we both used our credit cards at the same place, so we're pretty sure it was there that they were stolen... Just beware.. if they're gone too long with your credit cards, it's probably not the old worn out elevators keeping them.....We will continue to go back to Cabo every year.. but will never spend one more penny at the Villas... Do your self a favor, read these reviews.. especially the bad ones!

Christmas in Cabo

by A TripAdvisor Member

We have traveled to Cabo several times and usually stay in a private villa a friend owns. This year, we decided to have Christmas and New Years in Cabo, but the villa was already rented out. Our friend told us about Cabo Villas Resort so we booked there.
We had two adjoining units (single and executive). Each unit could sleep 4 and had its own bathroom, dining area, couch, tv, kitchenette, and balcony with a spectacular view of the bay and beaches in Cabo. The executive unit had a private bedroom with a large bathroom, shower, and oversize tub. It also had a large balcony that could sit 10 and a small 3 person jacuzzi. Flat screen TV's, granite counter tops, upgraded wood and furniture made these units very, very nice!
Cabo Villas is prime A1 location. If you look on a map of Cabo, you generally won't see it, but if you see the Office Beach Club on Medano beach, Cabo Villas is to the right of that. It litterally is the first hotel on Medano beach. It is 40 steps to the beach (next to Billygan's Beach Club, the Office Beach Club and Mango Deck Beach Club) and a 5 minute walk to the marina, Puerto Pariso Mall (which is very impressive), and downtown Cabo (Hard Rock Cafe, El Squid Roe, Giggling Marlin, and Cabo Wabo). You could not pick a better location for all around access than the Cabo Villas Resort.
The staff was excellent. My children and their friends (18-21 yrs) befriended several of the staff and they took very good care of them. From free drinks at the poolside bar, towels for the beach, to discounts for watersports (arranged through their friends), they took very good care of us. They were very polite and also spoke good english. One thing I noticed; the staff is trained to serve, and the cleaning staff is constantly cleaning. The place is spotless!
This resort is a time share facility and they WILL try to sell you a time share. The presentation took 90 minutes, but it was mostly because of our questions. The pressure to buy was low key. They will put the pressure on you to "sign up and buy today", but if you tell them you want to think about it, they will eventually relent and there are no hard feelings.
This is not a facility with acres of green grass, and palm lined drives, but it does make great use of the space available and the resort makes you feel comfortable. There is also a City Club (similar to Sam's Club or Costco)that is an easy 10 minute walk from Cabo Villas and they have everything you could want. Nice meat, produce, bakery, clothes, hardware, etc. A daily membership will run you $2, but is definately worth while.
We are thinking about going back to the Cabo Villas in February and buying a time share for the two units we stayed at. Our experience was that good.

Location, location, location

by A TripAdvisor Member

I am a very happy owner at Cabo Villas. I have bought not one, but two units. After reading the various reviews, I was shocked at the few unfavorable reviews, so had to respond. The LOCATION is insane. A 2 minute walk to the beach....at the two most popular bars on the beach in Cabo, a 10 minute walk to downtown, banks, stores, harbor, everything just minutes walk. Most rooms are great. Clean, ready, with everything you need. The staff is great, most friendly, helpful and really feel they "care".
As far as the "Time Share" speal, have you ever been to a time share presentation where it didn't sound "great" and pressure to sign NOW. I felt little pressure, enjoyed the presentation and of course bought 2 units. I have been enjoying Cabo Villas for several years now. In fact, the presentation began with "I know you are not here to buy, but just to get the "goodies", but just keep an open mind." I did. I bought. I would highly recommend Cabo Villas to stay or buy.

Good to Great!

We spent a week recently in Los Cabos at Club Regina at the Westin. We purchased a week timeshare there last year. Although it is a very nice resort, what we saw at the Cabo Villas made the Westin pale in comparison. A few of the differences were:

Location: Right on the best spot on Medano Beach with private beach club and a very short walk to all of the nightlife in town.

Construction Quality: We own weeks at the Westin and Worldmark and have never seen construction quality like the new units being sold at Cabo Villas. Granite tile countertops, stainless steel appliances, custom wood cabinetry, equal to high end construction in the US. We purchased a unit here that even comes with a private hot tub on the balcony looking over the beach and Los Arcos!

Maintenance Fees: $200 less than our annual fees at the Westin at $415 per year for our unit. As far as value goes, the food and drinks at Cabo Villas were outstanding and the prices very reasonable. Compare a $5.00 cheeseburger and fries with the Westin's $16 cheeseburger....and they were equal in quality! Also 2 for 1 happy hour from about 12 noon to 6 pm.

The Cabo Villas today and new construction coming with the third building completed by 2007 is a world of difference from the previous resort. The amenities and quality of this resort made me feel like it was the best value I've seen yet in the timeshare industry.

I can't say that it's for everyone, and they do try to sell you a week if you go to the presentation, but if you like Cabo and are going back often, then this seems like a pretty solid place to own.

we bought our first cabo time share here we thought that the place was ideally located ..with two bedrooms we have come down at least once per year..in fact the first year we bought friends..they fell in love and also bought..then we expanded our place here and have a two bedroom facing the beach and two units that look east...this winter with our weeks 52 and 1 we are brinigning our entire family...all six kids, two spouses three grandkids and two friends...and we will rent a car to go to Todos Los Santos to our favorite restaurant..Tequila Sunrise, and to go to the old town of San Jose del cabo, but we love the ease of the walk everywhere...try Arts and Sushi for the top sushi bar, and if you are the beer drinking type the beach front at Cabo Villas means beer all day,, and the restaurants here at the resort are great..upstairs the view is awesome, and the grill has some great food..and now I am typing this from the room..my own computer...by the way I love the staff..hospitality is the best, we also love our sales lady Marty and front desk etc....everyone is great

Know anything about Cabo Villas on Medano Beach CSL?

by sheryllea

Going to Cabo San Lucas in January. Confirmed reservations on an exchange. My room is Unit #3, it is not on their resort map, and can't seem to figure out if this is a basement, or what. Only states no view and has a hot tub. Does anyone know anything about this resort? This unit? Thanks
