Parasailing in Cabo

by beach221

Hi, do you have the name of the tour co and phone no for the parasailing tour that is $20 and 30 minutes? Most of what I have been seeing is 8 minutes in the air for $50 per person. Thanks.

Welcome to VT!

I think you have seen this info in the Cabo San Lucas travel guide:

http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/Mexico/Estado_de_Baja_California_Sur/Cabo_San_Lucas-929099/Things_To_Do-Cabo_San_Lucas-Water_sports-BR-1.html

?

If so, the tip dates from 2004, so clearly prices etc will have changed.

It's always best to check the date of VT tips because all VT content is member-written and tips can be quite old.

Hope this helps.

The Peso has changed value with the dollar of late so that sounds rather cheap. I'd check with the San Jose Del Cabo tourist sites as opposed to Cabo itself. However here's one operator's web page - http://www.caboreyparasailing.com/reservetour.html

this site lists quite a few companies for various watersports in Cabo:

Well, here is the thing. Three eight minute rides are $150.00. If the demand makes it possible to sell eight minute rides, for that price, why would any vendor give you 30 minute rides for less...? Just a thought.

That being said, this operator has 10 minute rides for $37.00......(single) or $65.00 double ride (tandem)

They also let you book several rides in a row. Good luck.......d:o)

Travel Tips for Cabo San Lucas

visit the Arch at land's end. ...

by Tropical_Guy

visit the Arch at land's end. Photos of it appear in most travel ads and articles about Cabo, so it's easy to point out to friends and say 'I've been there.' Lounging beside the pool with a book and a glass with a little umbrella in it, all while the weather back home is miserable.

Things You May Need

by grkboiler

Something to take your things to the beach, or to carry the things you buy at the beach Bring a jacket. It can get cool at night in the "winter" Kaopectate, Tums, Pepto Bismol - I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from Plenty of film A hat - the sun can get very hot and many people burn easily here

Something Different In Cabo

by fitzpatsy

If you arelike me you think you have done all that there is to do in Cabo San Lucas....but I recently found a new tour called the Americas Cup Tour. In cabo, this company Cabo Adventures has bought two massive regatta sailing yachts that were featured players in the 2000 Americas Cup Sailing Race for the New Zealand Team. The chance to get to even ride on one of these boats (two of the fastest sailboats ever made) is extraordinary but on top of that you get to steer it, grind the sails, hoist the jib and do all kinds of things that will leave you speechless. If you are like my wife though, and just want to enjoy the sound of the motorless boat cutting through the water, the boats have massive bows with tons of layout space....for you to practice your tan with. Overall this is just something different and at under 100 bucks you can´t beat it. Check it out.

A calm alternative

by spartan

On the eastern end of the tip of the Baja California peninsula, San José del Cabo offers a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The city is small and the hotels are spread out. Deep-sea and 'panga' fishing to the teeming waters of the Sea of Cortez can be arranged. Other activities include whale watching and golf in the championship courses that are sprouting throughout the area. The marsh north of the city serves as a nesting area for many bird species during the 'wet' season. If the purpose of your vacation is to relax, you are much more likely to achieve your goal by staying in San Jose del Cabo than in Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas tends to survive at a more frenzied pace than San Jose del Cabo and is certainly worth a visit for those staying in San Jose del Cabo. The restaurants and nightlife in Cabo San Lucas are world class. But for a casual pace with a nice flavor of real Mexico San Jose del Cabo is hard to beat!

Cabo is infamous for nightlife!

by EL_Bobbo about Anywhere in town!

Cabo is small...you can hit all the places a couple times a night. Cabo is sort of a Spring Break for adults! Here's my recommendations:

Start at "The Office" at around 3:00 PM
Then shower and change
Then hit the "Nowhere Bar" in the Marina at about 8:00
After a few hours head out to "Cabo Wabo"
Leave Cabo Wabo and go to the little bars out front for a few hours.

Once it is midnight "El Squid Roe" will be starting up. Go to El Squid Roe but don't fall on your way down the street.
Party at Squid Roe in til 5AM
Go to hotel and sleep till 3PM
Back to "The Office" and start all over (repeat for seven days) Baja dress code...if you have to press it our iron it...leave it at home! Beyond casual. What you were to the beach is cool in the bars. Maybe throw a shirt on. This is what Cabo is all about.
