Yes, it is a very beautiful place, but I was very disappointed in the management. I had a pair of earrings and a wrapped anniversary gift for my husband stolen out of the room. Management did nothing more than to call housekeeping. This should be unacceptible anywhere, but when you pay $600. a night , I would think that security would be more controlled.
Picturesque everywhere you looked...

Esperanza is the perfect place to relax and get away from it all. I felt like I had to take a picture everytime I turned around. The concierge could be better. I made reservations for dinner before we arrived. When we got to the restaurant they did not have a record of our reservation. The next evening, we were also told by the concierge that the restaurant we were going to had valet parking. It took my husband 30 minutes to park the car because the restaurant did not have valet parking. When I related both incidents to the concierge, he did look into it and called the restaurants. He called us back and gave us this long explanation. I didn't expect to have any problems with restaurant suggestion from the concierge here. However, the restaurants were great! The Spa was also great! Esperanza is pricey, but worth it!
Cannot get back soon enough!

My husband and I returned from Esperanza just last night. Everything about the place far exceeded our expectations! The service was great, and went beyond the usual to the really great - a bottle of sparkling wine on the night we got married, chocolates another night, ceviche with salsa and guacamole another. The room was super comfortable: great bed, great bathroom (products were excellent), patio had a great view. We had a 2nd floor room. The pools were beautiful. On the night we married, we did their "A Night to Remember", which is dinner for two on the beach with flowers, a fire, and a waiter who sang and played guitar. Yes, the place is expensive. We expected that, and got what we paid for. One piece of advice would be to go into town and buy whatever liquor you intend to consume in your room. You'll save lots. Also, I would go ahead and get the hotel's Escalade to pick you up at the airport. It's only $20 more than a regular taxi, and you'll be much more comfortable. Overall, Esperanza was a great place for a honeymoon - quiet, private, accomodating, great food, beautiful. We'll be back next year for our anniverary!
Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful

We just returned from Esperanza this week and it was the most wonderful vacation that we have ever taken. From the moment we landed until we were taken back to the airport, everything was beyond expectation. The staff is wonderful, friendly, accomodating and so very willing to see that every need is taken care of. The food is outstanding and they were very happy to alter their menu to your needs. We had a top casita and the view was incredible and the hot tub clean and a great temperature. The rooms are lovely, spacious, beautiful linens and lots of pillows on a very comfortable bed and they even put rose petals in the bath when we arrived. Everyday there was something special delivered to our room from chocolates to cerviche and chips to Tequila from the manager with a note thanking us for staying with Esperanza. What a nice surprise at the end of the day. The Ambiance in the evening is so romantic , yet very relaxing to the soul. They had laptop computers for you to use and the activities they arranged for us were excellent. The spa service was excellent. The infinity pools are beautiful and the view amazing.I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting a first class vacation ..We will be returning as soon as possible.I can't say enough great things about this resort.
Esperanza - get a new chef!

Pretty place, rooms and landscaping not at the same level as Las Ventanas but in the same price range. Dinner was an unqualified disaster... the menu is just too pretentious and the flavors bizarrely mismatched. We've dined in most of the 3 star restaurants in France (17 of the 25 or so there) and many of the top restaurants in the U.S., Italy, the Caribbean, etc. In other words, we are certainly not unsophisticated diners, so it's not that we were "over our heads" in terms of the menu. It was just not flavorful, not as advertised (a "lobster and fig fritter" was basically a hushpuppy/mashed potato fritter, with not a shred of lobster or fig to be found - for $19), and overpriced for what it was. It's a shame, it's a lovely restaurant set out over the rocks and sea, although it's so windy that the beauty is wasted.
Also, no shuttle into Cabo so you absolutely have to have a car. Amenities typical, not extraordinary. If you have the bucks, stay at Las Ventanas instead, you'll be much happier.

What a great place. Great views, wonderful people, scrumptuous food, impecable service. We always stayed at Palmilla, but during the renovation we stumbled into Esperanza. What an incredible experience!!! Returned to Palmilla last year and it was very dissapointing, but this year alas, we returned back to Esperanza. We are planning to return every year, same time, same room. The chef is excellant as well as all of the staff!!! This truly was a place of HOPE!!!
See you next year!!!!

Beautiful serene location. If was the perfect place to retreat and take time off from our busy work schedules. Staff was very warm and friendly. Concierge was great at helping us sort out our activities (snorkeling & kayaking) that we reserved outside of the resort. Palapa room had an extraordinary view of the ocean- break of dawn & sunset views were breathtaking. Balcony had spa infinity pool – fabulous! Room service on the balcony was perfect. Signature and La Palapa Restaurants were both located on a very romantic setting on the cliffs. Menus were good but had a limited selection. Loved the tuna ceviches. Excellence service even while chilling on the beach! Plenty of chilled spring water and cooling mist served to you. Loved the Baja lime toiletries which bathroom had an ample supply of but NOTE TO SELF – never take them (shampoo, shower gel, lotion, or conditioner) or you will get billed for them later ($19++ ea? Even if you took a half-full bottle that was in your shower!). Would definitely return, but will bring my own containers next time (ha!).
Among the best meals I've ever eaten
by TripAdvisor Member SarahNYC_8
We just returned from a Cabo vacation and while we didn't stay at the Esperanza, we did eat dinner there and loved every moment. We began our meal with blueberry mohitos, and iur waiter recommended a great Mexican wine (who knew?) with dinner. The presentation and quality of the food was outstanding, and the service impeccable. Someone even escorted me to the restroom! Every detail of our meal, from the flatware and scented napkins to the seafood was beyond perfect. We were celebrating our anniversary, and for dessert we were serenaded, and even given a small gift! The best part was the handmade chocolates the chef sent to our table after the meal. Or maybe it was the breathtaking ocean view... either way, I enthusiastically recommend the restaurant!
horrible snob can find nothing to complain about

when we checked in, the bathtub was drawn and strewn with rose petals & there was fruit and an ice-bucket full of fresh lemonade and ice tea... the non-alcoholic beverages in the minibar were all free. when you go down to the breathtaking bi-level infinity pools, you are immediately greeted by an employee and given an ice-bucket of bottled water and towels are laid out for you on the chaise lounges. the room itself was great, the bed was so comfortable and there is a great outdoor seating area and hammock. the concierge recommended great restaurants, and the on-site restaurant was excellent, i had been skeptical as i read a poor review concerning the chef on this website, but i have never had such delicious scallops, so perhaps they have a new chef. the whole place is absolutely beautiful, and you can use the facilities of the spa without having a treatment, very nice. they have laptop computers they will lend you if you want to go online, a great touch. when my husband and i forgot to relock our safe by accident, the maid alerted security and the concierge immediately asked us to verify that all our belongings were accounted for upon our return to the resort, also very nice. i can not think of a single bad thing about our stay, really a top notch place. it is pricey, but well worth it.
