More about Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort
Absolutely Incredible
by A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Hilton Los Cabos for 6 nights and 7 days. From the time we arrived we had nothing but exceptional service. The room was large and absolutely beautiful...tile floors, large bathroom that opens into room, comfortable bed and views of one of the pools and the sea of cortez (all rooms have ocean views), and very, very clean. The pools were like bath water, and the hot tub very warm. The pool had a swim up bar, and it overlooked the beach and ocean. Anytime we needed anything, they were prompt and helpful (even took us to the pay phone to show us how to use a U.S. purchased phone card). Food at restaurants were incredible, and they helped set up any excursions that we wanted to do.
Rented wave runners were a blast, but BAJA ATV tours were the BEST!!
They took us up to northern Cabo by van to the rental place and then proceeded on a 3 hour ATV tour that showed the most beautiful parts of CAbo and the pacific ocean. You went up and down through valleys and hills and then eventually on to open beach (no resorts, hotels, houses, people, nothing) and you could run them wide open, had natural waves in sand that added a little excitement and then us a little further north up and down a few more hills, that had cliffs off the side and led us to more beach a little further north. But it was absolutely incredible, you are flying down the beach, with the waves crashing in from the pacific ocean on one side of you and the mountains of Cabo on your other side. Definately the best excursion, and highlite of the trip. As far as nightlife goes, don't miss El Squid Roe, and the Office (restaurant on the beach-literally on the sand) and has a hoppin nightlife. As far as packing goes...nothing dressy needed....everywhere we went was extremely casual...restaurants, and clubs.

The rooms were great. The pool was absolutely wonderful. It wouldn't have mattered if it wasn't on the beach. That just made it nicer. The restaurants weren't bad, the bars and bartenders were fun. It had to be one of the best vacations we've ever taken. We spent a week at the Waikoloa in April, it was every bit as wonderful. Relaxing!!! The spa was fabulous and hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. My husband and I are usually more adventurous and consider ourselves travelers not vacationers. This however REALLy turned us on to at least one relaxing vacation a year. The fact that the resort was a 20 minute shuttle ride into downtown Cabo didn't bother us one bit. We could have stayed at the resort the whole time.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton from Jan 2-Jan 7 and had a wonderful time. All of the positive reviews basically sum-up the way we felt about this hotel. The room was much more than we expected. It was very large with a huge tub and shower, a beautiful view, and maid service twice a day. We had many American TV stations to choose from, the pools were beautiful and open 24/7, the beach was huge and largely empty. On any one visit to the beach we were encountered by maybe 3-5 vendors at the most, and they were easy to get rid of. We didn't eat at the hotel very much, but we really enjoyed the outdoor seating when we did. We also enjoyed going to the Lobby Bar in the evenings where there was live music every night, a very nice atmosphere, and even people dancing. The service was superb and the concierge desk was very helpful with tour and dinner reservations and information. All you have to do is ask and they can provide you with a great deal of information.
In response to the negative review from the Colorado visitor, our air conditioning worked very well (the room was cold when we first checked in), but it wouldn't have mattered to us if it didn't. We turned it off the first day and never turned it on again. We left the sliding door open throughout our entire stay. Between the open door and the ceiling fan, the room temperature remained very comfortable and we were able to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean every night. The pricelist for the minibar was prominently displayed on the shelf above it. I also don't understand how the bill at check out can be such a surprise, because you can actually look at your bill anytime during your stay by pushing a couple of buttons on the remote control to the TV. Everything is itemized on the TV, even taxes and tips. In addition, we found it to be an asset that our cell phones didn't work--this is a vacation, after all. True, I left the phone number to the hotel with my office in case someone really needed to contact me, but I knew that it would have to be a real emergency for someone to go to the trouble of making an international call to reach me. We were completely out of touch for the 6 days we were there--hooray! These days you have to leave the country in order to really get away.
As mentioned by another reviewer, the food at the hotel restaurants was priced as one should expect at a resort. A little tidbit, on our last day there the server at the Hacienda told us they were serving "special order Mexican food" for lunch that day, in addition to the menu items.
He said we could request anything we wanted. Being good Texans, we jumped at the opportunity to get "special order Mexican food" (although from looking around I'm not sure many others took that opportunity), and were very pleased. We got chips and salsa, queso, and two plates of chicken quesadillas for around $20 total. It was actually more than we could eat and we were very excited because the quesadillas were great and the price was much less than we would have paid if we ordered off the menu.
We were extremely happy with this hotel and with our entire experience in Cabo. We have already recommended it to everyone we know and can't wait to return ourselves!
Lived Up To My Expectations

Just returned from Cabo (1/7-1/11) where my husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. I did a lot of research including reading the tripadvisor reviews before settling on the Hilton. We had an oceanfront junior suite with a fantastic view and the hotel exceeded my expectations. The in room jacuzzi could have been a little bigger. But overall the service was excellent and the facilities were beautiful.
The Spa was great! The pool was fabulous and the beach access was perfect, something you will not find at many other Cabo resorts.
The food at the beach bar was very good but the food at the fine dining restaurant was less than good. The shuttle into town gave us the opportunity to try some great restaurants (check out Cafe Dorian and Mi Casa). Cabo had great activities. I highly recommend the ATV excursion.
Great weather, beautiful sunrise and sunsets.
If you need to call the states, buy a phone card in the hotel lobby store or in town and use the lobby pay phone. $10 for about 20 minutes of call time.
Business center has high speed internet for a fee but connection was slow during the weekdays and much faster on weekends.
We are on our way back in a few months.
Great Place for a vacation!

We had a great time at the Hilton Resort. 8 golfers stayed 5 nights and played four of the best golf courses. The room was first class with a great view of the Sea of Cortez. All of the staff were very helpful and took care of all of our requests. The concierge was excellent in recommending restarants which were all very good. The breakfast buffet was everything you could ask for from omelets made to order to fruit, cereal and all kinds of hot breakfast foods. No one had any problem with drinking the tap water or eating fruits from the buffet. The weather was great and the Hilton made this trip really good. We rented vans and I think that is a good way to go because the Hilton is in the middle of the corridor between Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San Jose. Both cities have excellent restaurants are about a 10 minute drive.

GREAT Vacation!!!
by A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I just returned from a week at the Hilton, celebrating our anniversary and his birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire week and the hotel lived up to be as great as we'd heard. The rooms were spacious, but we were never in them! Bathroom is cool - veiw to the beach from the shower! We enjoyed the buffet breakfast at the Hacienda every morning! Made to order omlets and Chocolate-Chip French Toast!!!
We had heard the fine dining wasn't that great, so we went to town to eat at places that we'd heard about... don't miss Edith's and Margarittavilla. Our one dissapointment was "Esperanza" the restaraunt at Punta something resort. This is supposedly where the celebrities go - but we were dissappointed. We paid WAY to much for our dinner ($14 for bottled water!) and left hungry! We went deep-sea fishing and had a great experience (caught a 64" swordfish!) and also rode ATV's. We highly recommend this excursion (Migrino Beach) as you get to see a lot more of the area and then ride on the Pacific Ocean side of Mexico.
Beware when you arrive at the airport of all of the locals wanting to sell you time shares. We were lied to by three people claiming to be with our hotel and also rental car company, turning out just trying to sell us a time share.
We had a great time and will recommend this hotel and Cabo to anyone!
How can you NOT love this place!?!?

Where to start... First off, I don't see how you can possibly give this hotel a bad review. I'm sure we've all been to a lot of hotels, and this was easily the cleanest, well-kept hotel I have ever been to. I was here for 5 days, 4 nights, and the service was excellent. Everyone was very helpful, especially since half the hotel customers don't really speak spanish! :-) I stayed in one of the junior suite, ocean front rooms, and it was better than i expected. There was a separate shower and jacuzzi tub along with marble (or at least fake marble) floors throughout the room. A HUGE bonus from the hotel was their shuttle service!!! They offer trips all day long to both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. The CSL trips are a little more frequent, but it sure does beat paying cab fare. The shuttle is only $10/day. They offer a great number of excursions you can take, so we hit up a whale watching trip and a day trip to Todos Santos. Yeah, some of the food and drinks might be expensive, but they're nothing more than your typical hotel prices. Get over it! :-) This hotel rocks, and I would easily stay here again. Maybe it just doesn't get the same reputation as the more private, independent resorts in town because it's just a Hilton, but I still hope you don't overlook this hotel. And a couple other Cabo hints.... take the Los Cabos Shuttle from the airport to your hotel if you're not renting a car. it's only $12 per person. Your hotel should be able to set you up with transportation back to the airport too. Also, some GREAT restaurants: Mi Casa, Brasil, La Dolce, Los Adobes (in Todos Santos). Great food. Anyway, there you have it.
Easily 5 Stars!
