  • OMG. The place is amazing to own and stay!

    by

Ok, we arrived to an amazing place! It's beautiful and the views are stunning of the ocean and big beach. We went on a sales tour (ok we agreed we were just going to say no), but our sales person Dirk Meyer showed us around and we bought a villa! Why not? Life is short! We have our kids who can come with us and the benefits are amazing all over the world. We've already used villas in Italy and Hawaii! Amazing. Dirk brought us bread every morning from the local farmers market! And he made sure we were moved into one of the villas to try our new lifestyle out! Private pool, 3-bedroom villa with a panoramic view of Earth! Everything about this company is ethical! The value you get compared to the USA is insane! We figured why not own some fractional real estate in the new phase instead of earning 1% back home, and having a good time with our kids. Dirk is super honest and helpful and made sure our kids were taken care of. See you all there.

Unique Quality: The views are breathtaking and the villas are cosntructed like nothing you've ever seen, perched on a hill

Directions: Right in cabo San Lucas. But quiet and fresh breeze off the Pacific every night

  • Extreme Caution, fractional/timeshare presentation

    by

On my companions birthday and my best friends anniversary, we spent a week at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort in Cabo San Lucas. A beautiful, isolated, well run resort with awesom accomodations and a beautiful view. Everything was going great until we found ourselves manipulated and deceived into purchasing a timeshare/fractional ownership that, as we were told, would pay for itself if we rented, instead of using the the unit, within 3 years. We were also told that no maintenance fees were included with our comitment. Once we received our contract, some 2 months later,we soon realized that everything promised was B.S. Consequently we had to forfiet our down payment, $12,000 dollars, in order to cancel out of this contract. I would like to help others from falling into this trap and add that our friendly salesman, Dirk Meyer, is out there waiting to tell you anything you want so that he can pay for his nice Hummer and his pistashio/mango orchard property that he owns, inless that's a lie also. "Unfortunatly, if you sign a contract outside United States for a timeshare located in anoyher country, you generally will not be protected by the U.S. federal or state contract Property Laws".

Unique Quality: Wonder accomodations and would love to go again but ..................

Directions: Head south to the tip of Cabo

    TOP QUALITY CABO!

    by

We were able to stay here because we had a week's timeshare to exchange that was expiring, and since we live just 90 mins up the road on the Sea of Cortes' side, we used it for our anniversary week as a little get-away.

We have stayed at several timeshare hotels in Cabo over the years, and they are all quite nice, but the ambience AND the staff here are top notch!! The decor in the reception is more old style Mex/European. Also, the clientele seem to be a little cut above the usual US tourist. This was the second time we stayed here, as friends had invited us to share their timeshare last year.

Service is prompt, complete and you are not made to feel as if you need to constantly tip. Everyone is fluent in English, totally courteous, without an attitude, which is sometimes found elsewhere in Cabo.

The units are spacious and have every amenity you could expect; and very comfortable beds, extra bathroom, both tubs and showers and separate toilets. Also, good-sized balconies with adequate seating and tables.

Unique Quality: From the delicatessens on site, where you can get freshly made salads or sandwiches, or choose from a great selection of fruits, pastries, and usual shelf or refrigerated items; to the several restaurants, and pools, you don't need to leave the premises once you are here if you so choose..........

BUT, if you would like to go into the town of Cabo, they provide a FREE shuttle to the other Pueblo Bonita properties, and from there it is easy to get into town.

VIEWS are spectacular, especially from the top pool. Small golf cart transportation takes you around whereever you wish to go, as it is hilly. But it is still negotiable on your own; I rarely used the transport.

The gourmet FRIDA restaurant is located here and is so perfect for that special occasion as we had; our anniversary. see other TIP

    I love the pueblo Bonito

    by

Everything is great aboiut this place. The people are great, the accommodations are great, its close to town, private beach. If and when you go, make sure you see Fabian and Xenon at La Nao / Manilla Bar. At the main pool - you want to talk to Oscar and Alonso. They are all the best.

    Stunning Solitude

    by

The Sunset Beach may be on the other side of the Penninsula from all the attractions, but the breathtaking location is worth every penny.

Unique Quality: Lay out by the less crowded (with splashing tikes) upper pool. Check out the tennis courts or internet access if the sun is getting too hot.

Paradise on Earth!

by A TripAdvisor Member

After reading some of the reviews posted here I was a bit nervous about the Sunset Beach, but there was nothing to worry about, this place is PARADISE!

This is the best hotel in Cabo, no contest. It is comprised of many large hacienda syle complexes sprawling over acres of land. There is no "big hotel" feeling here, it is very quiet and intimate. There are beautiful caged birds and roaming swans and flamingos everywhere.

The pool areas are excellent and cannot be matched, they make up for the not being able to swim in the ocean. Every morning we had the breakfast buffet (which was excellent) and ate outside overlooking the pool and ocean, it was breathtaking.

The hotel resturatunt is very delicous, high class, but not stuffy.
Everyone makes you feel welcome at this hotel. The consturction did not bother us one bit! We arrived on Sunday and were not bothered by the time share people, but we have heard bad stories of them...

All in all it was a great trip and if we return to Cabo we would definitely return to the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach!

Bye the way, we went down to the Rose and it cannot compare with Sunset Beach, there are peddlers linining the beach and drinking games in the pool...

Too Out of The Way

My sister and I just returned from a weeks stay at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. We both found the resort to be beautifully landscaped and relaxing. So relaxing in fact that if you do not enjoy laying by the pool all day doing absolutely nothing or sitting on your patio or walking on the beach without being able to get into the water because of the riptides, then this is not the place to go. The timeshare sales staff bombared us in the lobby as we were trying to check in and even called our room a couple to times trying to sell us on this resort.
Unless you are in great physical shape you can not walk around the resort but must rely on the cart service which seems to run efficiently. I must say the food and service in the only restaurant was great I would recommend this resort to couples who are very much in love and want to spend alone time together or couples who are so old they don't want to do anything except lay by the pool all day. There is no nightlife, in fact very little life at all.

WOW!

We took the timeshare tour of Pueblo Bonito Sunset. We were completely blown away, the place is absolutely phenomenal! The rooms are huge, the deck overlooking the ocean is enormous, furnitures, everything is top notch. We were staying at the Westin-Regina which is very nice but very expensive restaurants and very remote. Pueblo Bonito Sunset had much cheaper prices, and twice the quality of the food. Though they are tucked away, the town is only five minutes away. I liked the idea of having a repreve from all the hustling downtown. The pool is the best I've ever seen with swim up bar, basketball hoop for kids, and breathtaking backdrop of the ocean. The people walking around were regular folks, our casual ways were not out of place at all. This is the nicest place I've ever been too! Can't wait to return!

Great place to stay!

This is by far one of the best resorts in cabo San Lucas. The entrance alone gives it a shine. Its about 2miles of road through mountains before you get to the lobby where parking attendants take your car and park it for you. If you dont feel like walking to your room there are golf cart vehicles that can drive you to your room. They have a beautiful private beach the only thing that was very disappointing was that you couldnt go swimming because the waves on the pacific side are too violent and can kill you. So I didnt get to go swimming in the ocean but they have very beautiful swimming pools. Also every day they have a 2 for 1 special at the bar by the swimming pools above all the staff was great. They were so helpful. I had gotten the safe box stuck and within minutes of me calling the front desk some one went to open it.And on a seperate occation I was doing some reading at the beach front and a gentleman that works there walked up to and game me a handfull of shell and told me that he had noticed that I wore shell bracelets and ankles and that maybe I could make a necklace out of them. All in all the staff took care of my friends and I like family. They meke you want to go back. I recomend it to any one who wants to relax and make friends!

very nice, pricey and isolated

by A TripAdvisor Member

This is a very beautiful resort with extremely nice people serving you diligently. We had a great time. Unfortunately the view from our balcony was a construction site. The beach is so dangerous to swim in that security starts yelling if you are close enough to stand on wet sand. Everything is very high in price and to get to town you either ride a taxi ($10 each way) or you ride the free shuttle (be sure to make a reservation) and then walk several blocks to town (you are driven through town and dropped off at the Rose, another of their hotels). Last shuttle is 10:30 p.m. so plan on paying if you stay out late. We rented a car for the first 5 days and it was worth having. You are able to go where you want when you want and the isolation of the resort doesn't impress you. You can drive to the beaches that the boats take you for snorkling. You can go down the beach toward San Jose and enjoy the many beaches available.

Buyer Beware! Pueblo Bonito SUNSET BEACH

by dupedbyPuebloBonito

"False sales pitch at Sunset Beach"

Our family enjoyed a wonderful week at Pueblo Bonito in June of 2008. It would have been even better if we had skipped the sales presentation.

The talented salesman, Dirk Meyer, made it sound too good to be true and indeed it was. We have been trying to cancel this contract since. There are numerous complaints on the web about this resort and the sales staff.
Do your research. If you have money to spare-great. It couldn't be a lovelier location.

In our case, the salesman's associate promised he could sell our existing timeshare with RCI for 13K and then we could apply that money toward our balance after paying a 5K deposit. Sounded smooth. A year and a half later? No sale of previous timeshare. We were also told that the purchase at Pueblo Bonito is an investment that "will pay for itself" after 4 years of renting it out. Not true.

Basically, skip the sales talk and enjoy the beauty of the area. I wish we had...as they will say ANYTHING to get you to take their bait.

Best Birthday spots?

by UalKerry

I'll be in Cabo this Sat--my bithday--Does anybody know any spots--Reaturants/bars which offer a comp drink/food or such for someone who can show proof of bithday date? We'll be at our timeshare at the fantastic Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach--but could take the shuttle into town and walk most anywhere. CaboWabo or El Squid Roe or such? Thanks

RE: Best Birthday spots?

by YVRDave

Ask for Peter in the time share office and tell him I said he should buy you a birthday drink

RE: RE: Best Birthday spots?

by YVRDave

But its his B'day on Monday so you will have to buy him one too

RE: RE: Best Birthday spots?

Thanks much for the suggestion--I'll also hint broadly at registration--which did no good last year.--Will probably go to the new Pacifica hotel on other end of the beach past the owners mansion for b-d dinner--hear it's pretty fantastic.
