Twin Dolphin Hotel

Fabulous

From the margaritas that were brought to us before we even signed in to the time we left, everything about the Twin Dolphin was suburb...and I am not normally a resort person...and I can be hard to please.

Before we got there - and we got there two days late because of some travel mishaps - they were gracious about re-adjusting our check in...without charging us for the nights we were not able to spend there...which honestly floored me since we canceled two nights at the last minute.

The service was also amazing - there when we wanted something, not obtrusive when we didn't need anything and quietly cleaning and arranging treats in our room when we didn't expect it. After a very long trip to get there, the margaritas at check in really were a nice touch, and clearly memorable.

The view from our private room balcony was a few palms, looking down over the beach with only a footpath in the way...but we hardly ran into other guests since there are only 50 or so rooms on 10 or so acres of land perched right on the Pacific. We got the cheaper room that we thought didn't have an ocean view but came to find out we just weren't not sitting directly on top of the cliff overlooking the Pacific...which was really quite OK given the view we did have.

If you are looking for fawning service or all the electronic amenities of many resorts (TV, high speed internet access, coffee machine, etc.), or brand new everything this is not your resort. I personally appreciated the lack of connectivity and found that because of that we had completely decompressed within hours of getting there.
