The resort is not close to many other hotels. It was nice to look outside and not have views obstructed by tons of high rise buildings! It was a very quiet location!

We stayed in a "Junior Suite." It had a large "main area", which was basically a mini living room with a queen size bed and a balcony overlooking the ocean. It also had a seperate bathroom and a seperate kitchen with fridge, microwave, stove, etc.

The fridge is filled with stuff, and you get charged for those items you eat/drink. The best news is there is a grocery store right on the resort, just 30 feet from the resorts main entrance. Beers, sodas, water, and everything else were about half the cost in the grocery store. The bottled water especially came in handy...bring them down to the pool rather than spend $5 for a bottle at the pool bar.

Attached to the grocery store, there is also an internet cafe where you can log onto the computer for a very good price. There is also a deli in the internet cafe, with great club sandwiches if you just want a quick, cheap lunch.

The resort itself is beautiful. The pool areas were nice, lots of seating, and even a little water slide at one of the pools. The oceanviews were absolutely stunning.

There are a few beach merchants along the Villa Del Palmar beachfront. The resort has the beach chairs behind a roped off area and the merchants are not allowed to come inside the roped area. They still stand on the other side though, and try to get your attention.

When walking to the left of the resort, you will see no hotels, just a long stretch of deserted beach. To the right, you will see where the beach starts to get crowded. There are more hotels/beachfront restaurants this way. It is a bit of a walk, but its enjoyable. If you do not want to walk, there is a water taxi that comes right up on the beach, and for $2 a person, it will take you to the "happening" part of the beach.

The resort was wonderful, and I would highly recommend the Villa Del Palmar to anyone visiting Cabo!

  • New 5-star oceanfront resort with miles of uninterrupted beach, yet just minutes from all the "Cabo action." The resort's unique contemporary Mediterranean design will give most suites a view of Cabo's stone arch and the Sea of Cortez.

Accommodations include 458 rooms which range from Junior Suites to 1-bedroom suites to 2-bedroom suites to 2-bedroom deluxe suites & 3-bedroom suites.

Amenities include 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 1 pool bar, 2 pools, 2 lighted tennis courts, watersports rentals and a 10,000 sq. ft. European style Spa and Fitness Center. Car rental agency, travel agency, deli market, laundry facilities & gift shop also on the property.

  • My wife and I recently stayed at the Villia Del Palmer and had a great time. All the talk about the high pressure sale pitch is a bunch of bull. We attended the sale presentation the first day which gave us a great tour of the resort and when the time was up we told them that we were not interested in owning and we were not bothered again. Go into town and purchase your beer by the case and put in in the refrigerator, also buy bottled water to make ice. We made our own drinks and save a fortune. The resort is located close to town but having a rental car is very convenient. A good place to park is the Coasta Real hotel on the south end of town it cost 1a hour but it has a guard. The resort is very relaxing and not loud like some reviews have said all the functions end by 10 and the put up sign reminding people to be quite. The feature nights are nice but expensive about $40 a person for a buffet and show. There are several restaurants in town that supply better value. La Costa Country is a family friendly restaurant that we enjoyed. For a romantic dinner try Romeo and Juliet on the south end of town, Mi Casa behind McDonalds had great Mexican food but it is expensive. For lunch try the Office on the beach the food is great and the have 2 for 1 drinks. All in all we had a great time in Cabo one suggestion is get out and explore.

  • So this hotel more then filled our expectations, it was amazing. Great location, I loved the fact that it was at the end of the busy part of Medano beach because there weren't all the vendors hording (sp) you every time you stepped on the beach. It was a long walk to downtown via the beach but we found the public transportation is the best way to go anyways, for only 6 pesos they picked you up right outside the gates of the hotel and came every couple of seconds, I'm not exaggerating either. This hotel was amazing with 4 pools, 2 restaurants and a pool bar, which was unfortunaetly not a swim up but hey you can't get everything. Plus there is the new La Estancia located right next door and although we never made it over there to try out the restaurant and pool it looked really nice. Over all I think this was one of the nicest hotels to stay at especially for the price, and the waterslide was awesome! I highly recommend checking www.bentoncabo.com if your interested in this hotel, they were so wonderful to work with, everything was so easy and we had the best time ever for such a wonderful price.

  • We stayed here for my batchlorette party. The hotel was nice. I can say we got what we paid for. We paid $600 usd for 4 night. What we didn't like was the pressure to go to the stupid Time share breakfast. (we never went to it.) Also the front desk people were rude that worked at the hotel. The restaurant by the beach was very nice and the food was excellent. The waiters were very kind and even brought us blankets because it was so cold at dinner. All in all, we had a great time. The tour office by the pool was great. The gentleman who helped us was very kind and helpful. If you take a tour, make sure to try the Canopy Costa Azul Zip Line tour.
All in all, the stay was ok, we had a clean room, nice housekeeper, but rude front desk person.

  • I stayed here with a group of eight friends on a college Spring Break vacation in March 2006 and found the hotel to have a great value for the price we paid. We did not book the hotel directly through Villa del Palmar, but instead found two rooms that were rented from people owning time shares here. For 7 nights we paid $600 for one room and $800 for the other (although they were nearly identical rooms), split between 8 people making it a very inexpensive $25 per person per night.

The rooms had one large bedroom with a king bed and an attached bathroom, another bathroom, and a kitchen/living room area where there was a pull out couch (double). The pull out couch was pretty small to sleep two guys on, but hey it was spring break. The kitchen had a large refridgerator, a stove, oven, and some cookware. This was nice because we were able to cook simple snacks/meals and keep our store bought beer cold! They cleaned the room everyday, which was much needed for us. None of us ate at the hotel restaurant, but we did eat some mediocre pizzas that they make down at the bar by the pool.

I saw a wide variety of people staying at this hotel. At the time, almost all were Americans, but of all ages. There were families with kids, couples, and yes, some college springbreakers! It wasn't a total party scene though like you see at some places. If that's what you're looking for, it isn't that far away...

The hotel is located about a 20 minute walk from the center of town, or a 5 minute taxi ride. Most of the taxi's down there are large vans and they are great if you have a large group. I remember that the taxi fare was almost always exactly $7 or 70 pesos each way, no matter how many people were in the van! I saw some vans with at least 12 people! This is probably the preferred way to get to the downtown, but I did end up walking a few times and it wasn't bad.

All in all I was very happy with the selection of this hotel. 2 thumbs up.

  • My friend and i went to cabo san lucas for a 2 week holiday and judging off previous comments from this page, thought we would be staying in a nice hotel. When we first arrived at the hotel we were quite pleased with rooms and facilities, however as our stay extended we were far less than impressed with this hotel!
We had heard off other guests that they had experienced problems with the shower and water in their room, yet we pressumed that this would not be the case in our hotel room because the shower/water was running just fine! After approximately four nights at the hotel, we began to experience problems with the plumbing in the toilet. The toilet would become blocked and unable to flush on three seperate occasions. On the third occasion the toilet completly back-flushed and flooded water throughout the majority of our unit. The maintainance staff came to fix the problem and we thought that this would be the end of it......... untill we checked out and were charged US$216 for the cost of the toilet.......... This was an absolute joke. How we broke the toilet by simply flushing it beats me. When we saw the general room manager about this problem, he told us that we didnt break it, but we were still responsible for the toilet because when he gave it to us it was working! RIDICULOUS!
We also made friends with other people at the hotel that were charged for room serice they never ordered ect.
The maid also broke a bottle of perfume in the bathroom and the hotel refused to pay for it.......again because it was our resposnibilty.
I would absolutly not reccommend this hotel to anyone...... there are far better hotels in cabo that offer better services and facilities than this hotel
I have travelled alot and never felt the need to say something like this about a hotel, but it was disgraceful!

  • The setting is beautiful but the service was lousy! We paid over $200 per night and never had hot water for showers. When we checked out there was a $1.00 charge for local phone calls but no notice of any kind in the room. They also added a local tax for every night that was also not publicized. Their food and drinks were terribly over priced. Stay away from this resort!
