Lover's Beach transportation

by dbkarpf

From several reviews it seems like getting to Lover's Beach is very easy by water taxi from the Marina - how easy is it getting back? Does one arrange a time with the taxi that drops you off, or what?

Thanks!

Yes. Fix a price & time to be picked up or how long you will be there. Dont pay up front. You pay when back at dock. There are many people there and is close by.

Locals always know - just ask when the last taxi leaves. Usually they depart every 15 mins. Watch what the workers/locals are paying and don't ask how much it is, just pay what everyone else is paying.

Travel Tips for Cabo San Lucas

Don't be a typical ignorant Gringo.

by SoCaldude

Look,

One of the main keys in visiting a foreign country is to be exposed to and experience a complete total culture the opposite of yours. When you're there, try different foods, different drinks, anything different from you in general. Don't be a typical closeminded Gringo and carry the bigot american attitude, I'm better than you because you're not american and you must cater to me since you're a foreigner to me. When you visit a foreign country, take the time to atleast a few phrases or words to make an attempt to immerse yourself into the culture. 90% of Mexicans in Mexico will respect you 100 times more when they see you're trying to make an effort and an attempt to show some type of interest in there culture and watch their attitude. They treat you way more different than if you were a typical "speak my english language in YOUR country or die" Gringo. The other thing is that, they respect you so much more and feel more comfortable around you. It's like in the good ol' US when we have tourists that can't speak a lick english. It's annoying and you're thinking, what the hell is he or she is saying? And that is what it is like to the people of Mexico when you try to automatically americanize your attitude and colonize your language to them in their own country. Look 99% of the world hate Americans and our country with a passion and with all of this political crap going on. Show some interest into their culture and watch how they treat much much better and with respect. The whole purpose of visiting a foreign country is to be exposed to a different culture and language. If you want to hear English only, then stay back in the US and take a trip to a state. Remember we're are referred as THE UGLY AMERICANS internationally by the entire world.

Rock Climbing

by Kamran

There is some great free climbing areas right at Lovers Beach in Cabo San Lucas.

To get there you'll need to drive up the road that goes right up by the Marina. It will dead end at a resort. Nod your head at the attendant like you own the place, or just tell him your checking in. Then go park to the right in the car rental parking lot. Chances are your driving a rented car and they'll never notice and your car will just blend in. However, this is not legal, but it's fun.

Then walk through the resort, scope it out for babes and head down to the beach and go left towards the large rock structures.

Usually no one is climbing just passing through to go to the private beaches on the other end of the rocks.... Water, sunblock....no need for harnesses...

Nice beach north of Cabo

by TXgal

Cerritos Beach is (was) an off the beaten path kind of beach but now everyone knows!! About an hour north of Cabo, just before you get to Todos Santos. They have now built a restaurant/beach club there which is nice. You can surf here but as always be cautious! See my Todos Santos tips.

Dancing

by lil_traveller

We went to the buffet at antoher hotel and it was soooo good! The show after was pretty fun and we got to go up and take pictures with them. The one performer was from Vancouver which was kinda cool.

Of course of course El Squid...

by caboguera

Of course of course El Squid Roe.

But like I said before Cabo is not that big. So you can actually bar hop between all of the hot spots in the same night.

Some other great spots are The No Where Bar, Cabo Wabo, Cool Hippos, Jungle Bar, Tanga Tanga and Kokomos!!
Squid is where everyone ends up at the end of the evening. It is a wild and crazy loud place. You can dance on the tables until the wee hours of the morning. You can visit it every night and have a different experience each night. There are no rules here!!! If you don't like crazy parties stay away from Squid especially if they are starting the matador!!!! You can dress as you please. You can dress up or go in shorts and a tee shirt. Just wear something comfortable!!!
