Travel Tips for La Paz

We drove to La Paz 2 times now in my 28 foot motorhome. I took the ferry once across (sea of cortez) and drove the length of the baja back and forth for the return trips. Had no trouble at any time. You must have good tires and drive only during the day. It is a 3 day trip from calif. border to La Paz. My freind is building a house and already has a garage in La Paz. We have a 25' boat for fishing we towed down during christmas week of 2001. We are now ready for some real fun fishing. Heading back down in april of this year to fish (stay about 2-3 weeks). Meeting my friend from edmonton in Las vegas and we will drive from there together.

La Paz - Capital of Baja California Sur

This town does not really meet the meaning of its name anymore. It’s quite lively and along the shore packed with restaurants, bars and clubs. The town center is lovely and has many stores and shops to offer.

Once La Paz was famous for its oysters that grew off the shore, but they got sick in the 1940’s and the main industry was wiped out. Now the main income is fishing and tourism. La Paz is a very important port town and the main connection to the Mexican mainland, it got 10 beaches to offer is a nice place to reach after driving all through Baja California.
