Situated in a neighborhood on the ourskirts of La Paz, La Casa Jalisco is a wonderful small hotel. We stayed there for one night before moving to a condo for the rest of the week.
La Casa Jalisco consists of 10 very large rooms in a 3 story building on Jalisco street in the southern part of the city. Our room was very clean and included a TV and AC. They also provided complimentary bottles of water and their was a water cooler with purified water on every floor. The service their was fantastic and the staff were very helpful in answering all of our questions (in excellent english) about the area.
Our stay included a continental breakfast in the morning in the sunny restaurant area. Though it was your average fare of eggs, toast, cereal and juice there was also a homemade sweet bread that was very delicious. There is a sizable pool on the property that we didn't swim in but looked inviting enough.
There were two drawbacks during our stay. The first hopefully isn't permanent...there was a rather foul odor in our bathroom, probably something a little plumbing could fix. The second would be the only thing prohibiting us from staying here again and that is the location. La Casa Jalisco is about one mile/$5 dollar cab ride from the Malecon and all that La Paz has to offer. While the area around the hotel seemed safe with a few local shops in walking distance, it would have been nice to be a little closer to the action.

We found this hotel on the recommendation of a friend. It is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed meeting the new owners and appreciated their hospitality. After a long drive down the Baja highway, we were ready for a little pampering and solice. This place offers great service and the rooms are incredible. Spacious and really, really clean. My favorite spot was poolside (beautiful) with a cold beer and a book.
Unique Quality: Seemed like a lot of business travelers, so we had the pool mostly to ourselves.
Directions: Walking distance to the malecon.
