Whales Inn Beach Resort

The Whales Inn Beach Resort is no longer in existance. The entire area of Loreto Bay is under complete re-construction to create a new "town" of cluster homes, a few custom single family dwellings and a few condo complexes.

This is supposedly the last large resort development under Fonetur and is expected to take about 8 more years for full completion.

The site of the Whales Inn, has been purchased by a developer that has an agreement with Marriott and plans for 200 condos run as a J.W. Marriott resort. The "Welcome Center has been created and the "mission" site has been fully refurbished. The plan is to not begin construction until at least 20 units have been sold. They are just beginning to actively "sell" the property and 6 units are already sold.

Prices begin at $750,000 (US) and go to $1,200,000 for 2-3 bedroom condos that are beautifully appointed. The Penthouses are priced further into the stratosphere depending on the options chosen for construction materials.

Unique Quality: Ultra high end amenities in the models give evidence that when built this will be a showcase location. Bathroom vanities are made of translucent marble which will double as night lights. Drawers in the kitchen and baths are "self closing. Just push gently and they retract silently. Travertine flooring abounds as does marble. The homes appear to be well worth the high price.

  • Opinion of Price: more expensive than average
