Travel Tips for San Felipe
San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico
"Down Town San Felipe"
San Felipe is a nice small town next to the sea. It's very hot in the summer and the town is pretty much slow unless you come down there during spring break. There is not much to see, I think it's main attraction is for the laid back small town atmosphere.
"Valley of the Giant Cactus"
"Valle of Los Sahuarus Gigantes" is located not far from downtown San Felipe. I think it's a must see because these cactuses are HUGE! One warning, it's good to get there with a 4x4 vehicle. Our family car got stuck in the sand. Since it's the desert, we got to see some dead cows and pelicans.
I went on a trip to San Felipe for Christmas in December 2003. It was one of the most relaxing trips I have ever been one despite the fact that we drove there from Canada. We stayed at an RV park right on the beach.
The only downfall was that that year there was a bit of a cold snap and it was quite windy. I was told that that was unusual for that time of year.
Overall, it was a great place to visit, largely because while there are many tourist activities, it hasn't been commercialized to the same extent as has for example, Cabo San Lucas.
