Small and Intimate

We have stayed here a couple times and always find it to be good value for the price; well located, clean, good ambience, with Hacienda style architecture and lush gardens.

There is a range of prices between poolside and garden rooms,in two buildings, but all are comfortably outfitted.

Internet access available, and they have a good website (see below)

Unique Quality: The pool is heated in winter!

In the center of many great restaurants, which will provide 'room service', as the hotel does not have its own restaurant.

Charming little hotel

El Encanto Inn was really a lovely place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice. There are sort of 2 categories of rooms: suites in the main part of the hotel, by the pool. Very Mexican feel, nicely decorated, and standard rooms, which are smaller, and very simple, but are across the street in the other part. They lock each part from the street at night, so be sure to bring your key.

El Encanto is a few blocks away from the main square, but it is not a problem. Just a couple minutes walk.

Unique Quality: The main part of El Encanto is centered around a very nice patio and pool area. Very Mexican/Spanish villa feel to it. MY friend's suite had a king size bed, and a fridge and small couch. The bathroom, however was unusual: it was a separate room, but the wall did not go all the way to cieling. Visually, it was blocked, but there was nothing to block the sound from the main room. Kind of strange. Other rooms, however, were not like that.

Wedding trip to San Jose del Cabo

by hethbill

Our group visited San Jose de Cabo in January of 2007 for a friend's wedding. The sun and warmth of Cabo was a welcome change from the north winter. We spent most our time in San Jose del Cabo, a smaller, less touristy town up the hill from the water. It was a very different experience that Cabo San Lucas, which we visited for one day, which was more built-up, touristy, and had MANY places geared toward college/spring breakers.

San Jose del Cabo was pretty quiet, and had the feel of real town, had some great restaurants. Parts of it were somewhat run-down, but I never felt unsafe.

We stayed at El Encanto Inn, which was lovely. Stay in a room in the main part of the inn, by the pool. That section is much nicer and the rooms are bigger.
