Cabo Pulmo National Park and Area

I'm thinking about going to Cabo Pulmo in November. Is that a good time for snorkeling? Is there good snorkeling near the shore? How much does it cost to rent snorkeling equipment, and can I do it there, or should I do it from San Jose del Cabo where I might be staying?
Are there buses from San Jose del Cabo that I can take to Cabo Pulmo.
What is the town of Cabo Pulmo like? Any tips for accomodations?
Any of the basic information would be greatly appreciated.

We are going to Cabo in October and have booked a snorkeling tour to Cabo Pulmo through Earth, Sea & Sky Vacations, Inc (www.cabovillas.com) for $65 per person (cheaper than any of the other operators and cheaper than trying to get there on your own).
They pick you up at your hotel at 7am and include lunch, water, panga boat out to the reef and snorkeling gear.
If you want to stay at Cabo Pulmo there is an eco-resort Cabo Pulmo Villas (www.cabopulmo.com) with a PADI dive shop on the beach but some people who have stayed there say that local residents' rental properties are a better deal for families/groups.

Just about 25 minutes north of Cabo San Lucas lies another gem in the Baja. The small community of San Jose del Cabo. The "urban spread" of Cabo San Lucas has not yet fully reached this community, but the beach front is fast becomming just like "Cabo."
The central plaza in front of their historic church is a community meeting place where families gather and children perform on the small stage beside the fountain.
The art district with its many galaries is a delight to wander through.
