If you like to change your money you better do it in a village cause at the hotel you get less money for your dollars. And you need a lot of money when you want to shop in Playa del Carmen. This change is near the ferry to Isla du Cozumel. Thats a good thing, cause there are a lot of people traveling with this ferry. But you can also keep your Dollars, cause they also take Dollars.
Dont do it in the hotel....we had to pay $ 3 for 10 minutes in the hotel for being on the internet, while in Playa del Carmen we had to pay $ 15 for an hours.
We went to this place which is close to the Jaguar restaurant (its just across the street). We had some calls home and no its not my fondest memory, but thats how i found out my lovely pussy-cat Umfufu wasnt on earth anymore.........but better in cat heaven then sick and poor on earth !
If you want to have a real Mexican meal in a restaurant the best change of getting one is when the coock is Mexican / Mayan. At El Jaguar there is a Mayan coock. They just know how to keep it real Mexican without making it a tourist meal. (like when you order an Asian meal or Greek meal here in the Netherlands).
We Western or USA people or from Canada or.... well you know what i mean, are living in houses with all in it and when you see a house like on the picture you should get some respect for the people living in it (most whole families up to amounts of 20 !)
Always when i come back from a holiday and see my own house i understand again that i was lucky enough to be born in a ridge country! You should do that too.
Isnt not as nice as in the Dominican Republic and not so many as there too, but on a lot of places you can find the Mexican bands. They make the lovely Mexican music and even on the beaches are they to be found. This is just on a corner of the street somewhere near the beach of Playa. But it has to be said : Local music is great to hear on the streets, it gives you that holiday feeling.
