Anyone tried the hotels in Palenque? We're going to be there for one night so I don't want an expensive hotel, but I do need a clean, a/c hotel with a comfortable bed!
Thanks.
I don't recall if the Hotel Kaxlan has air and I'm not sure you would need it anyway. However, it is everything else you want and doesn't cost a lot. To get there, go out of the ADO bus station turning right and go straight. When the main drag turns a bit to the left, keep going straight. It is a block or two later on the right. There is another decent one near it.
Hilton in Palenque?lol
No, there is nothing of the sort in that area. I checked Frommers and Fodor's travel books and if there were, it would have been mentioned.
I stayed in Posado Kin.. it's not far from the Zocalo and not far from the combis that go to the ruins.. Built around a small courtiard, i's nothing special, but clean and practical rooms with private bathroom.. Best of all it's not expensive at all.. I'll be staying there again when I go back this autumn..
Actually there is no A/C in Posado Kin, and there's really nothing luxurious, but at least you feel like you're in Mexico..
