Peering down towards the beach

Feeling adventurous, I took a company car and drove 5 hours from Leon, Guanajuato to Manzanillo. I arrived after dark so I was not prepared for the sight of the ground in the bright sunlight. Las Hadas looks like a Moorish palace with everything painted white to reflect the heat of the sun. If only they had been able to achieve the same effect with the volcanic action-created sand which will burn your bare feet. The food in the restaraunts was very good including the breakfast buffet and the seafood restaraunt for dinner. The room was comfortable and well appointed. I will definitely return. The only caveat I would share is that there aren't many staff members that speak English. I did notice a couple Canadians that seemed to be having a tough time making themselves understood. Their impatience didn't help. A phrasebook, on the other hand, would have helped immensely.
I went to Las Hadas Hotel in Manzanillo in June of 2006 and it definetly has a romantic feel in the air. The hotel has all amenities so you don't have to take a pricy taxi to the bottom of the hill. Although, if you are in the mood for a little workout then you can walk from the hotel to Chipotle restaurant for a tasty breakfast. The pool is well kept with an iguana in the middle of the plant setting and the beach is tranquil and seems nice for families with small children.
