The age group here in La Manzanilla is fairly evenly spread out between 50 plus and under 50. This is not just a retirement community nor is it a hot spot, it has a very special balance. In fact if you were looking for nightlife you would be better off doing the 17-kilometer drive to Melaque or Bara de Navidad. There is fun here but it is usually a family kind of fun around the Jardine (gathering place) on the weekends, a wedding or a 16th birthday party kind of thing. This by no means we don't party here, the Mexicans love to drink and dance and we get some rip roaring parties going.
When me and some friends do want to go for a 'night on the town' we will go to Bara de Navidad and have dinner at Sea Masters then walk over to where the have the water taxis over to Isla Navidad. There is a night club near there that we like to go to. Normally we are the only ones there and we can get as crazy as we like! Great fun. No dress code except you can't go naked.
