I was surprised to not see any entries. I will be going for my annual family trip in July & would be happy to answer questions about the small towns that go from Durango, Dgo (the state capital) to Tepehuanes. My usual family stay is in Nuevo Ideal, Durango. Hope I can help someone. Viky
One question, I am a big time railfan. I may come to durango on greyhound. How far is the bus terminal from the downtown area, where the train is?

I am leaving to visit my Mother's family in Durango, DGO on Monday, June 26. This is my 4th visit with them since I rediscovered them 2 years ago, and I will be there for 3 weeks. Do you know of any good day or overnight trips near Durango? I would love to go to Mazatlan, but here the road is dangerous. Do you suggest any other side trips near Durango?

Renting one of these may be what you are looking for 0 a chance to hang out close to where many of the classic western movies were filmed. i didn't actually use this information (which came from the tourist office in Durango), but pass it along here . . .
