How do I get from the cruise port to the site of the divers?
Any of the taxis will take you to the restaurant that overlooks the dive site.
We took a cruise ship tour of Acapulco in order to see the cliff divers and I was glad we did. It was a private afternoon show, for the tours only, so it wasn't crowded. It was a bit more expensive, but it made things easy for my 88 year old mom, and I'm always happy to avoid crowds.
This is the main street in Acapulco, called the Costera (Miguel Aleman) Avenue. This is where 99% of the discotheques, bars and restaurants are located in Acapulco, as well as most of the nicest hotels in town and many stores & shopping malls...

This means Happy Hour and this means two drinks for the price of one, always and everywhere. If you order a Corona, you get two bottles. If you order two Corona, you get a bucket with ice and four bottles. Isn't that great? ISN'T THAT COOL? I love this place so much!
There is not just one spot - you have to check them all out. It's the only way!
There are a lot of great nightclubs here. There is one that has a unique show with female impersonators. It's fantastic, it's fun. Most nightclubs give you an opportunity to dress up - why would you want to go dressed in what you wear during the day?
The best and cheapest store in Acapulco is WalMart on the east end of the Costera close to the Base. Other comprehensive stores are all up and down the Costera: Aurera, Comercial, Gigante. Across from the Zocalo is a Woolworths. On the west side there is Carrefour on Avd. Pie de la Cuesta just before Ejido. The absolute cheapest store is WALDOs (like the 99 cent stores in L.A.) on Aquiles Serdan.
If you want silver jewelry, visit Linda de Taxcos in the Old Acapulco area. She will provide free transportation to her shop. Also, make sure you ride the shotover jetboat. Spend some time in the Condessa Beach area shopping and walking around.
Plenty of photo opportunities on the beach and in the flea market. If you visit Linda's, you will be offered free beverages (Corona, Bottled Water, Coke, Diet Coke) and a clean bathroom. Right next to flea market so take a few minutes to walk around and look.
