Tarzan's House

this is where John Wayne and Jonny Weissmuller (the original Tarzan) lived while in Acacpulco. When calling for reservation request Casa de Tarzan. The views are unbelievable, the staff is wonderful. We can't wait to go back again.
Casa de Tarzan runs around $200 a night but there other rooms are nice and less expensive.

Unique Quality: You get to stay in Tarzan's house.

Hi good morning,

by Mette-DK

i would like to know the best (and safe) way to go from Acapulco to Zihuatanejo? How much will it cost to travel from one place to the other? And where should i stay in Acapulco. i would like to stay at something typical Mexican (if that's possible in Acapulco).
Thanks, Mette

the old center of acapulco is still very mexican.
there are many hotels around the zocalo.
mostly in the cheaper range.
just stay away from the big hotels on the beaches outside of town and you will be fine.

travelling by bus is no problem in mexico.
mexico has the best long distance busses in all the americas and they are very comfortable, but a little expensive too.

Mette,

I once stayed at "La Boca Chica". I believe I have a tip on it. I don't know if there's anything "typically Mexican" in Acapulco but this hotel is small, quaint, and not that expensive.

Darling, If your looking to have a great time without too much expense, consider traveling to Mazatlan. Its just as beautiful, but because its only growing in popularity, its relative cost is much cheaper than Acapulco. My travel buddies and I have economic constraints and are choosing Mazatlan. We're having a blast in Chihuahua for the mean time and plan to make Mazatlan sometime in early August.
Hope this was helpful to you.

Hello, I have been to Acapulco many many times, and my advice would be to stay in Pie de la Cuesta, it is 15 miles away, but very inexpensive, very nice if you don't look for all inclusive hotels, you have the ocean on on side, the laguna on the other. It is not as developed. And close enough to go to Acapulco at night...
Hotels in Pie de la cuesta, Ukae Kim, Nirvana... I think both of them have web sites...

Okay..I've been to Aca 10 times. I opt for the more touristy hotels, but i also explore. If you want to be far away from all action than Pie De la questa is a good choice..there's many bed and breakfast type places. If you want to be in a nice quiet place with a view...then Los Flamingos is the best place...it also has a famous history. If you want to be in the heart of it all, there's a authentic/touristy place about 3yrs old called hacienda euginea.

I usually rent a car and drive to Ixtapa and it's impossible to get lost..just follow route 200 and it takes 3-4hours. There are also luxury buses that will get you there.
