1)do I have to pay just to watch kids swim with the dolphins and if so how much?
2) is there a van from cruise port to the show and how much?
3) do you need res. for this or pay when I get there?
Although I do not agree with forcing animals to do stupid tricks for human entertainment, here is the website for them. Beware of online ripoff which has been reported on more than one occasion. Do not buy tickets online.
They allow family members to watch but they have to pay brtween five or ten dollars per. I would assume the same for you if you do not participate. It would make no sense to let anyone in there for free.

Bring Immodium, it doesn't matter how classy your hotel is, you don't want to chance spending your vacation on the toilet. Make sure you have a good flash on your camera if you're a night owl. It's not really fun to try to figure out what you took a picture of after you're back home.
When I was young my family used to go to Big Bear, CA or Arrowhead, CA during the holidays. We had a good time and it was a very traditional snowy way to spend the holidays. However, several years ago I got the itch to get away from all of the family gathering obligations and just wanted to split town. Last year was my first successful escape. My mom and I went to Cabo san Lucus and had a blast. This year we decided to stick with the hot weather theme and gave Ixtapa a try.
As always, my mom and I had and great time and highly recommend visiting Ixtapa during the holidays. There is something very unique and special to see Santa Claus fly over the ocean on a parasail on Christmas day in 80 degree sunshiny weather!
Ixtapa is a great place to stay on the "Mexican Riviera".
Not as popular a destination as Acapulco or Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa is located inbetween the two.
A short (50 minute flight) will get you here from Mexico City.
My daughter and I decided to get our hair braided on the beach. The cost was 250 pesos.
It was great considering I spent 4 days in and out of the ocean and the pool so it kept my hair out of the way, only trouble is sunburned scalp! Ouch!
