Casa Adriana - Excellent

February 2011
As first time visitors to Zihuatanejo, Lucy and her staff made us feel right at home and very relaxed during our two week stay. We had reservations for the first 8 days thinking we would like to stay at another bungalow. Well, we loved Casa Adriana and her warm staff! With luck on our side, Lucy was able to work us in for our entire stay :)
On our arrival we had reservations for the first eight days, very accomodating for 6 people (2 bedrooms), has an excellent balconey and view of the Bay/Ocean. Then we moved to a smaller bungalow great for 2 people also view of the Bay/Ocean. Our final bungalow accomodated 4 people (1 bedroom) with a huge porch/balconcy and again the wonderful view of the Bay/Ocean.

Unique Quality: The beds in all the rooms were very comfortable. With each move we were greated with a nice clean, colorful room with fresh flowers. Excellent maid service each day, the ladies were always friendly and smiling. All bungalows had a complete kitchen -refrigerator, sink, stove, microwave, coffeepot, dishes, towels- and a bottled water dispenser. Bathrooms were nice, too. Bungalows had air-conditioning units (that we did not use) and ceiling or standing fans.

WAS UNSUCCESSFUL TO LOAD PHOTOS OF EACH BUNGALOW, SORRY.

Awesome location

We booked our vacation late, so our lodging options were somewhat limited. I read another review about Casa Adriana and decided to give it a try. I contacted the hotel by email, and my emails were always promptly answered. They do not accept credit cards, so I took the risk and wired the 50% deposit. We paid the remainder of our amount owed in cash before we left to return home. They do not take credit cards, but do take either dollars or pesos.

This was our first trip to Zihua, and we couldn't have asked for a better location. We walked or easily caught a bus or boat to everywhere we wanted to go. Casa Adriana was clean, had a great view and fit our needs. However, I wouldn't say it was an excellent value for the $100/night we paid - but, maybe there just aren't great deals in Mexico anymore. The unit we stayed in (we thought it was the best one) had two double beds, a tv (with four all Spanish channels), a coffee maker, a blender, 5 gallon bottle of drinking water, a stove and a fridge. We bought groceries at the Comercial Mexico so we didn't have to eat out every meal. The only noise issues we had were with the other guests. Two other balconies were close to our bedroom windows and the first night a family with small children stayed out on their balcony very late - the kids were really wound up and very loud. The windows don't have glass in them so it sounded like they were running around in our room. They were quieter for the rest of our visit. We did not hang out or swim in Playa Madera because of its close proximity to the canal, we spent most of our beach time at Playa Las Gatas - where the water is much more clear. We also enjoyed Playa Larga and the beach at Ixtapa. There is a good coffee shop/cafe on the street one block behind Casa Adriana - they offered some of the best food we had on the trip and the coffee is good too.

Unique Quality: Great location, great views, no pool or restaurant
