Hotel Villa del Sol: Luxury at it's Best!
This hotel is owned by a German family and it a little piece of paradise. Grass huts to protect you from the sun, pools with waterfalls, hammacks outside your room. It was exactly what we were looking for!
Amazing beach. One of the few beaches in Mexico that you can actually swin in because the current isn't so strong.

Hotel Casa Celeste: Nice place for cheap college student accomadation
Stayed for 9 nights with my boyfriend, payed about $35 USD / night. The rooms provide a window and balcony to the street, AC, and bathroom facilities. Its basically kept pretty clean, its a good place for cheap college students to stay, rather than the Villa del Sol that will charge you an arm and leg for. However, we did encounter fleas or something in the bed and when we asked to have our room changed, the hostess would no accomadate us. I would recommend this place again only because of its close proximity to the beach (its only a block and a half away), but if you do encounter the bed bugs, make sure you make a bigger deal and don't take no for an answer.
Its really close to the beach, and there are tons of little restaurants around for food!

Hotel Villa del Sol: Gorgeous Beach, Gorgeous Grounds, Beautiful Rooms
We stayed at Villa del Sol on the recommendation of friends. What a beautiful place. The grounds were green and full of flowers, the beach was protected from the public beach, and our favorite...there were palapas every where. We would rise about nine, have a light breakfast and then head to our oceanfront palapa. Sitting in the shade with the ocean lapping away on the Playa del Ropa, reveling in the heat and gorgeous bay view. Can't get much better than this. For lunch, the beach waiters would set up a table with a white tablecloth, under the shade of the palapa and we would feast on shrimp tacos, chips and the freshest salsa. When the heat would finally be enough for us, we'd wander to the beachfront infinity pool for a cooling dip, or take a plunge into the ocean.
We were on an all-inclusive package which included breakfast and dinner and rarely left the resort. We came to relax, read and refresh and be pampered. Pampered we were. A wonderful hotel. I'd go back anytime.
Our room was huge. The sleepig area was a step up from a large living area. The floors were gorgeous Mexican tile and the walls were painted in lovely yellows and orange. Every evening there was an arrangement of flower petals on our bed. The bathroom was also huge with bottled water provided for use everyday. Right outside the door was a small hot tub. The infinity pool was right above the beach and provided gorgeous views. We usually watched the sunset from there. We took one of the least expensive rooms, a garden view, and just loved it. More expensive (much more expensive) rooms on the beachfront had a few more amenities, but we were absolutely content with ours. We spent most of the say under "our" palapa on the beach.
There are two restaurants, the "Cantina" right on the beach at the beachfront bar, and "The Restaurant at Villa del Sol" which is a bit more elegant, but is still open to the outdoors. The food was excellent!. You could also arrangea dinner under the stars right on the beach. Orlando's Bar was the perfect place for an afternoon chi-chi.
The beach was nice and clean, the usual vendors were not allowed in the hotel area which was pleasant. This hotel is not in the heart of town, and while you can walk to town, it is a ways and we normally took a taxi. The staff was wonderful and helpful.

Villas don Manuel: Barra de Potosi.
It is a great place for a big family get away. Toby and Claudia are great hosts, we felt at home with the freedom to come and go. We had a fantastic different breakfast every day for 7 days. We occupied 5 of their 6 bedrooms.
Villa don Manuel is rustic in the sense that there are not glass windows or AC, but they have mosquito screens and ceiling fans, the roosters every morning were charming.
The bedrooms and beds are very comfortable, and include a mini refrigerator.
Barra de Potosi is where the locals go to have fun at the sea, there are ‘enramadas’ where you can have great seafood for lunch and/or dinner at reasonable prices, rent a kayak to go to the lagoon, enjoy a clean, sandy beach.
Hotel Don Manuel at Barra de Potosi is a great place for families or a romantic getaway; it’s not the place to party and stay out late. You can go to Ixtapa for that.

Pacifica Hotel: Panoramic view
We stayed at our time share and it was a wonderful vacation!
Hotel offers many activities including swiming with dolphins, city tours and you can always find FRESH fish being that "Z" is a fishing community!!
Also, if you like walking, you can enjoy the many shops and restaurants in town.
Every unit is air-conditioned and has a terrace with ocean view and partial kitchen.
It has a cable car which connects hotel to beach and the romantic El Faro restaurant at very top of hill.

Villa del Sol, Zihuatanejo: True Paradise......at a cost
Heaven! This is so fantastically beautiful it's beyond me.
It's been a while that I've been there and I hope the surroundings are still as unspoilt as they where.
When I was at the beach, turtle babies were crawling out of their eggs and through the sand just a few feet from my deck chair......
It is integrated and in harmony with nature. None of the ugly constructions like in Acapulco or Cancun. A haven of tranquility.
