Guadalajara Neighborhoods

by lucitabonita

Hello everybody,
My fiance and I are moving to Mexico next year and will be spending some time exploring Guadalajara this April. I'd love to get some recommendations for nice, livable neighborhoods. Are there any artistic bohemian neighborhoods in GDL similar to the East Village/LES in NYC or Condesa in Mexico City? How about colonial areas? Is there much outside Centro or Tlaquepaque?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Wouter,
Thanks for your help. From all I've heard, Tlaquepaque sounds great. My fiance and I are spending a weekend there during our trip. We'll be at Casa de las Flores, but we'd certainly love to meet up. I'll send you a PM.

Guadalajara, Mexico, second largest city in Mexico. Great climate in February, friendly people, fantastic restaurants and shopping till you drop.
The Hospicio Cabanas is a building that is not only known for its architectural design but houses some of the great works of artist Jose Clemente Orozco.
