Trip to the Ajijic -- Lake Chapala
by Ekahau
The town of Ajijic and Lake Chapala region of Jalisco, Mexico, has a wonderful climate year around was started as an ex-patriat writers and are colony in the 1920s I was told. It is now a very nice place for retirees, those wanting to escape aspects of "Home" (such as the winter weather for Canadians or the hot summer sun for Texans). About 5,000 expats who desire to live and in Mexico call this home.
We used a guide Ilse Hoffman 011 [52] (33) 3647 3912 she was a social worker in Boston and is an editor of the local english language Newspaper. She was wonderful and can give you the scoop it you are thinging about living or retiring in this part of Mexico.
Teatro Degollado
by isolanthui
This magnificently ornate theater, designed by Jacobo Galvez, is a masterpiece. The inside is lavishly adorned with red and gold balconies and above is a dome decorated with a depiction of Dante's Divine Comedy. The Philharmonic Orchestra of Jalisco and the Folkloric Ballet of the University of Guadalajara often put on performances in this beautiful theater.

"great hotel"
I have stayed in this hotel several times since they opened, there have been many changes in the hotel, new air conditioning system, and they are installing the new elevator. We go to this hotel because they have a closed indoor parking, and all the merchandise that you purchase you can have it deliverd to the hotel so you don´t have to carry it with you , and they store it in the large patio, with separate storage spaces, that they have ( free of charge) , used for all the merchandise delivered.
at night time we went to a little mountain called el cerrito de la reina, it´s the highest point from where you can see the entire view from guadalajara.
