Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
Paradise Village was a fun place to stay, especially with old and new friends. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment in the resort, and since I was a single woman with two couples I got the couch. There was a kitchen, and our view was of a swimming with the beach just beyond.
Paradise Village had everything you could wish in a resort hotel on the beach, including swimming pools, a big hot tub, two or three restaurants, a recreation program (w/such things as a daily tequila volleyball game in one of the swimming pool), a very nice beach with warm water in the ocean (or bay, I guess). There were different types of entertainment on different nights, including a fiesta and some traditional Mexican dancing. In order to receive a free fiesta and/or a jungle tour (I can't quite remember) I sat through a time share presentation, though I knew it wasn't anything I wanted. Catering to tourists, including to my friends who return faithfully every year, Paradise Village offered a very enjoyable experience. The Club Embarcadero is a great Hotel. I stayed in a 3 bed hotel room, and it was nice...on the 6th floor with balcony...amazing view. the hotel rooms overlook the Marina and the pool. At the Embarcadero there are 2 sides to the hotel, there is the Marina side ( where Most of the hotel rooms are, Pools (2) Resturant and Bar) and the Ocean side ( which is right across the street ( more pools (3) on this side as well, resturant and of course the Ocean) There is always activities going on in and around the Hotel...From Water Arobics, Tequilla Volleyball....all the way to Dancing Lessons. They have all the Activities on a board so you always know what time they will be taking place. Breakfast in the morning is from 7:00am till 11:00am, Snacks from 11:00am till Noon Lunch 12:30 till 4:00pm At dinner it is held in a large theatre area, where they have live entertainment whille you eat. Dinner is a buffet everynight ( the dinners are all themes as well ex: Mexican, Ittalian, Chinesse...etc ) Most importaint about the hotel, is that it is a great place to relax, the staff is outstanding!! ( very friendly! ) This hotel is a 4 star hotel, But I give it a 5!!
they have 2 swim-up bars in the hotel, it comes in handy when it is hot out!!! Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: In Marina VallartaDirections: 5 minutes from the Airport

www.lasiestahotel.com I found this hotel thru a friend, and it was a great place to stay. It's situated up from the Malecon and hustle and bustle of town, 5 blocks and a few switchbacks, which was good exercise. Although we rented a car later in the trip. There were 3 rooms per floor and 6 floors, it had a big comfortable bed, living room and stocked kitchenette and filtered water cooler, and I loved the bathroom tub, all hand tiled in a circular tub.
Oh yes, it did have one of those, a beautiful pool w/lawn chairs and such, secluded from onlookers from anywhere. The gronds people kept it clean daily. Leave a Comment

I have only stayed in Mexico one other time. My first experience was at a three star, and the Decameron is a four star, so kind of hard to compare! The facilities were very nice. There are about 5 or 6 blocks of rooms, some ocean front, others tucked in the back of the resort. We were in one of the back blocks, which we were disappointed about at first, until we realized that ours was the no-children area. Bonus! Each block has it's own pool area, bar and snack area. The rooms were nice. Big beds (although a little hard!), a huge bathroom and shower (different from the last resort I stayed at), and very very clean. The pool facilities were great. There were four pools in total all over the resort. All were impeccably clean. The only bummer was that they were closed at night, so no last minute dips to cool off (although I think this might be standard in Mexico). I loved the food, and found some new dishes to try. My dad said that he had had better at a five star, but that it was still pretty good. The staff were great. Extremely friendly wait-staff in the restaurants. Our room attendants did a great job. The front desk staff was very helpful. The beach is also very nice. Lots of room to lay out your towel, although they never seemed to have enough beach chairs! I would definitely recommend the Decameron to others.
If you do stay at the Decameron, make sure that you have dinner at the beach side restaurant around sunset. You will never see one as beautiful! Every night we were in PV, we had the same table for dinner, and we were treated to the magnificent sunset! This little cheap hotel is in what they call the Romanic Zone, and it’s totally this little bohemian village. Cobble stone streets, out door café’s; kick ass meals for $9, and hardly any tourists. This hotel you can buy from your travel agent or on any on line hotel source. Then boyfriend and I stayed there and had a super time, it helped that we were loaded with weed, but never the less, it ruled. There are a lot of San Francisco folks down there because it’s a very gay town Puerto Vallarta. I remember walking down the street and a total white guy pops out of his store and says “Are you from San Francisco?” I said: “yes, why?” He said: “Because you look like it”. Again, being the Queen of the Fags my rein is far and wide.

Great room. Great view. Great service. Great pool. Beautiful. Quiet, comfortable. Ok beach for the area. Recomend upper floor ocean view. Food not so good and overpriced. Short walk to Marina, good food and good prices. There is a deli right across the street where you can purchase a cooler, some pop, beer and munchies for good prices. You can buy your coffee there and brew it in your room and save a load of $. As for the towels, I only used the ones from the hotel when I was at the hotel. I brought my own towel for off premisses uses. If you don't want to bring your own towel from home, make a quick stop at the local Wal-mart buy a towel, your other food and drink needs, use it and then leave it for the maid when you leave. Yes I would recomend this hotel. The only small draw back is that it is quite away from old down town where I spent a great deal of time so it got kind of old having to take the taxi all the time if you want to go any distance, but the taxi is cheap and always an adventure. Had no interest in trying the buss but it goes right by the hotel. Had no problem with timeshare on the hotel premises. Yeah they have the vendors on the beach, a smile and a wave while shaking your head no they go away.
The view of down town, watching the boats go in and out of the marina and the pool and grounds are outstanding. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Paseo De La Marina Sur 205, Puerto Vallarta, JAL.

1999 - We had a rough start here, mainly because of a misunderstanding between our travel agent and the tour operator. Once it was sorted out (thanks, Dan), we really enjoyed our stay. 2003 - We came back to this hotel because it was very cheap, and we wanted to stay in this part of town again.
1999 - Right in Old Vallarta - on Playa los Muertos. Our description of this hotel is a soft two-star. The staff made it really fun, there were lots of activities (I know, most all-incusives have this, but we really enjoyed these folks). 2003 - We booked room only this time, and as it turned out, that was a better way to go. Many of the all-inclusive activities we had enjoyed on our previous visit had been discontinued, and the bar seemed to close quite early.
