A very nice 3 Star Resort

Our family had an enjoyable visit to the Club Embarcadero Pacifico in Puerto Vallarta : keep in mind this is a Three Star Resort, and you will be fine. If your family requires posh accommodations, then you should look toward a 4 or 5 star resort.
Did you know these are TWO sister resorts? The Embarcadero is on the Marina side, and the Pacifico is on the Ocean side. You are free to come and go, as you please. Your colored bracelet allows you to eat at BOTH resorts.
This resort is well set up for families. Our 2 daughters ages l0 and 11 had a great time. (in fact, our l0 year old cried for 2 days, after we left)
Here is a sample for activites on Thursday:
l0 am Spanish Lessons l0.30 Stretching 11 am Water volleyball 11 am Bike Tour 12 noon Aquaerobica 1:00 Bingo 2:00 Water Polo 4:00 Steps Aerobics 4:30 Dance Class 4:30 Water volleyball Mexican Fiesta 9:00pm at the Outdoor Live Theater & Buffet (on-site)
We had a Junior Suite, which included 2 double beds, plus a Day Bed (which could sleep l child) We really didn;t want to use the Kitchenette - we had the all inclusive, plus the Kitchen was not set up (no dishes, plates, etc) You could make a cup of coffe, but that's about it.
We found very few of the pools in Mexico are heated, so the fact that the Embarcader pools are not heated, are really not that unusual.
The swim=up bar is lots of fun, even the kids could swim up for cokes and sprites.
The restaurant is right on the Marina and quite pleasant. although the food is adequate, after 3 days, both my husband and I were tired of it.
Normally, my husband and I stay at 4 Star resorts, so we were not in love with the place. YET, for a 3 Star resort, we felt everything represented very good value.

we had a great time at the club embarcadero we went in february staff was wonderful very friendly and they work very hard food was fine quite a variety rooms were clean remember it is a three star but we were very happy grounds are immaculate

I just came back for a holliday in Puerto Vallarta and it was great, this hotel has really improve since my last visit. I just want to come back.

Great vacation

I just returned from a 3 night 4 day vacation from Club Embarcadero, It's an all inclusive resort and it was awesome!!! We had no problems whatsoever at the hotel. The rooms were VERY nice and clean and the staff was always friendly and helpful (to people who were friendly with them.) The food was not in the least bit bad and the idea of being able to go to the bar and get whatever I wanted was great. I have to admit the pool was a little cold but that was one minor kink in an otherwise perfect vacation. I think the majority of the reviews that are negative were written by somewhat racist white people. If you don't like Mexican's then don't go to Mexico.....
Good resort if you don't pay full price

Just returned from one week at Club Embarcadero with my wife and three boys. We got our trip for a good price so we went with an open mind.
The hotel rooms were nice and the hotel was clean..However our son's gameboy advance system w/5 games went missing from our room. Service was poor unless you were a Mexican. Tips were expected for everything even tho they were supposed to be included in our pkg price. In Canada we tip based on good service but here service was based on our tips.
The pool was incredibly cold so the kids spent very little time in the pool. The food was blah and you could never tell what it was.
Bad experience

If you want attenetion to detail don't go to Embaracadero. We waited 3 days for our room and moved 2 times before we got it! The front desk doesn't know what's going on and we had to ask for clean towels. The food was not very good either. We had a really bad experience there.
Relaxing

A wonderful hotel to stay in if you are looking for relaxation, warm & friendly staff. If you are looking to party this is not the place for you, but if you want good service, decent food, and Spanish lessons from the staff, this is definitely one of the best places.
a badly kept up place

Here is our experience during our 5-day stay over the xmas-new year vacation. Day 1. Waited for an hour to get our room, which was not the kind we booked and have to move. No water at night, no warning either.
Day 2. No hot water. By the way, warm water is our only hope. Not even that. Day 3. Coffee maker quit working. Day 4. No towel service at the pool at the villa side. We walked to the main hotel side and was told towel service is only availabe between 9-5 at the main pool. Day 5. We went to the main pool at about 12 pm, was told "sorry, towels are all out".
This place is so badly kept up. In our little one-bed room suit, we found: TV with no remote. Lamp was broken with shade hanging on one side. Shower curtain rod was corroded. Door knobs was not in place. Out door showers have no shower heads. Electric wires hanging out along the side walk. Have to dial local calls through operator.
We hated to go back to the hotel each day, never know what will go wrong.
