The road
by anagrettel
We drive from Guadalajara to Puerto vallarta, the road to get there is a little dangerous because has lots of curves and there's just one road line in each direction, so if you plan on driving to Puerto Vallarta avoid doing this at night, because it's harder to look any incoming danger as car accidents in the road or cars going in opposite direction using you road, etc.
At day light the view in the road is nice like a little a small jungle, I really enjoyed during the day.
Where the kids can go!!
by Mindy_J
The Discover Kids Club at Dreams Resort was awesome. It is located at the Turtle Sanctuary. The kids to crafts, go swimming, get to see the turtles up close & many other things. The kids were excited to go!
Explore the side alleys
by Carmanah
Get off the main streets in downtown Puerto Vallarta and explore the tiny side streets and alleys. The architecture is amazing, and each road has its own unique character. More often then not, you'll come across some amazing restaurants and shops by doing this. Sometimes you'll even discover secret gardens. You'll never know!
Travellers Cheques - Credit Cards
by Skye_Miles
TRAVELERS CHECKS
Easy to cash but be sure and have a photo ID. Some places give a better exchange rate for travelers checks and I am not sure why!
CREDIT CARDS
Visa, MasterCard and American Express are widely accepted. No Discover Cards here. Most places have a service charge, anywhere from 3 to 6% and beware! Because they do not always tell you this.
The necessities!!

Make sure your luggage is washable, we had to totally disinfect ours from all the sand fleas and mini spiders. Take extra fast drying clothes, the humidity hinders the drying process. IMODIUM, GRAVOL, PEPTO BISMOL, MOSQUITO REPELENT, CALAMINE LOTION, AND SUN BLOCK LOTION. Take your own towel. You can get a towel from the resort with a towel key, but beware, if you misplace your towel or if someone picks it up by mistake, you got to pay $40.00 US.
