Fiesta Americana at Grand Coral Beach (FAGCB): Luxurious and rather private

Any amentie you can think of is available at this luxurious hotel. I was there from January 18-21, 2005 for a business trip, but brought along my fiance to keep me company. The FAGCB, for short, was perfectly nestled in the heart of Cancun with restaurants, shopping malls, clubs and fabulous beaches within walking distance.

Upon entering the hotel, you are greeted by very accomodating bellhops and other service personnel. As you glide across the marble floors to the front desk there are numerous staff to assist you with check-in. There is even a full time staff member who speaks Japanese given the plethora of tourists from that country vacationing in Cancun.

My fiance and I had a room on the first floor with a beach front and pool view. It was fabulous! We had a huge bathroom with an attached powder room with panoramic mirrors. The bathroom was so large, one could stretch their arms out and do spins without touching anything! Located in the closest your complimentary bathrobes for him and her and on the beds were slippers and a milk chocolate atop the pillows.

Our room also had a small staircase leading to the den equiped with a lounge chair and matching sofa. Of course the room had your basic ammenties: a television with english and spanish channels, a mini bar, and toiletries.

The most relaxing aspect of the hotel room was the outdoor patio overlooking the 5 swimming pools and beach front! There were 2 loungers also provided for those too lazy to walk the 3 feet it took to get to the pool and beach.

Overall, this hotel is definitley deserving of 5 stars! For those interested in food options, check out the hotels restaurant. There customers are served traditional Mexican delicacies certain to satisfy any appetite!
