Playing the crowd

It's hard to find a "bus stop" in Toluca. But if you stay here long enough, you would find there are some place gathering people waiting for buses. When there's a bus coming, you should read the "stops" in front of the bus quickly (they put all the stops on the window), then wave your hand, then, jump into the bus.
As my best friend worked in Toluca, I would often visit her there on weekends and later when she didn't work there, we would still return to see her cousin and enjoy the nightlife!!
Our favourite thing to do was to visit the markets to eat tacos de barbacoa (goat meat tacos) and tacos de cecina con papas a la francesa ( pork meat tacos with french fries included!) - you have to try these to believe them - they are one of the things that I miss from Mexico!!!!!
We would then go to one of the nightclubs in the evening - namely BOSS where we would rink and dance the night away with friends.
It's also nice to visit the town centre shops as it has a traditional fee there and SUSHI YENS sushi restaurant is one of my favourites of all time!!!!!
Toluca is an easy day trip from Mexico City, depending on how much you want to see. Go on a clear day for the best views of the extraordinary volanoes and views of the Mexico City basin.
N.B. On the way up to Toluca, you will pass a number of roadside open-air restaurants. These provide marvelous local cuisine and are "safe" for those concerned about food-borne sickness. Pick a crowded one and enjoy your food on benches in the sun, watching the cars buzz past!
