Of course you have to be prepared for the COLD anytime of year and the heavy rains each summer afternoon and early evening, but most things you need can be bought here. WalMart and Carrefour are probably the largest stores, but there is also Aurrera, Gigante, Comercial, Supercompras, Garces, Garis.
City of Toluca and the Nevado

"Toluca, an earthequake cit"
I did know nothing about Toluca when I happened to visit the city with academic purposes. It is located about 45 miles South from México DF and the bus trip from México International Airport goes across the Northern part of the city and the newest business center and then through the Marquesa forest on the slopes of the mountains. Toluca looks flat and old fashioned and since we stayed at the historical center, our feeling was that of a quiet, small city. Later we found out that is quite large, with 1,500,000 inhabitants, but the earthquakes made it grow along the small mountain valleys. Two or three stories houses painted in light blue, green, yellow or pink and traditional Spanish style churches climb up the slopes. A good general view can be taken from the top of the Mirador at the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico (UAEMex).

Toluca is the Capital of Mexico State, it´s just 50 km from Mexico City. This is probably the highest city in the country over 2700 meters over sea level. Toluca is famous for their food "Chorizo", and also have some historic spots from Mexico.
